Dr. Oz is fantastic. I'm not 50 ... I've got 20 years to go for that - but at 30 and 409lbs - I was miserable and dying. HBP, Apnea, High Chol, Pre diabetes ... I'm too young for that. Now 4 months and 106lbs lighter - I'm healthier than I've been since I was a teen and life is good. My wife is 15 years my senior, so we already have time against us. We want as many years together as happy and healthy as possible, which is why she was sleeved a month ago.

My aunt was telling me that she saw an advertisement for this show. I'm home sick today unfortunately, so I will definitely check it out, and DVR it. Dr. Oz has come out in support of WLS recently, I do like him a lot!

Yeah for Dr. Oz. My primary was all for the surgery also and was a tremendous (and still is) support to me medically. I will be 62 next month and feel better than I have in many years. I'm so glad to be over the "lust for food" and now am "lusting" over the size 12-14 clothes! My husband says since I never sit down for dinner, maybe I can get another job to pay for the new clothes I tell him, "When will I shop then"....

I first found out about the sleeve from watching dr oz :-) there was a lady on his show who had lost a lot of weight and they'd said she had had a gastric sleeve ? I had heard of the bypass and didn't like the fact that they messed with intestines etc, and didn't like the thought of the band being in there and having to have continual upkeep. So was I looked further into the sleeve decided that was for me
Thank you dr oz show :-)))

This is a great response to the naysayers,
    Great post!
Thats what Ive been worried about...sometimes I feel that I shouldnt get the surgery because I have doubts and scared of surgery...
But I am 100 lbs overweight...my bmi is 41, I am 5'8 and weight 276 and have diabetes/pcos/low thyroid/infertility...I hope surgery will get me healthy enough to get off my meds!

My family is against me having surgery and I don't have much support...booo!

Im at extremely obese on the bmi chart at` 5'8 : 276 lbs with bmi of 41 : extremely obese
After surgery post of weight the prediction is I will be 197 lbs : Obese according to the bmi chart that was give to me at the kaiser options class.

I cant imagine being 70 lbs lighter at all....Im 38 years old and have been this heavy since I was 20 years old...emotional eating....ugh...

Try upping your protein and lowering your carbs and calories. Are you taking your measurements? Sometimes the weight loss stops while the inches keep coming off. Your body has to "adjust" itself.
