The further you are out from surgery the more different foods you can add. As for ketchup, you are over six weeks out and I dont see where a teaspoon or tablespoon would hurt with your meal. Just remember the ABCs of weightloss, All Bites Count. I use salsa on some of the dishes that I cook so that I not a problem either as time progresses. You are normally adivised to avoid foods with small seeds in it for about six months. This gives your stomach a chance to heal without the seeds getting stuck in the seem of your stomach. I eat strawberries from time to time now also. So in time you will be able to enjoy all of them again in moderation. Godspeed on your journey.

    I didn't know that, thanks!

I was allowed strawberries at 4 months post op, and they're delicious! As for salsa, I make my own (dice an onion, tomatoes, chop coriander, a bit of chilli, and job done) :-) And I can have ketchup too- just be aware that there is a TON of sugar in ketchup. If you look at the food label, you'll see what I mean. Food labels are my friend now :-)

Don't worry, I made myself a little bit of spaghetti carbonara this week and still lost weight the next day. I've also had a little bit of pasta and bread. As long as it's just a taste, occasionally, it's fine. You still lose weight but satisfy any cravings. It's not the end of delicious food at all :-)

Sure. I was eating salsa weeks ago. Funny you should mention ketchup, because I remembered it last night and thought, "Whoa!"

Strawberries I haven't had yet and hadn't heard about the seeds, although that makes sense. I might chance them sooner than 6 months though.

My PA told me to start introducing fruits so I went straight for the strawberries. I am 2 months out and no one told me about the seeds. I will stop now. Dang.

The quantity of food that I'm eating now is minuscule compared to my meals before surgery.

I'm really not seeing an occasional tablespoon of ketchup as any kind of threat to my long-term success.

    Am I missing something..?!
