    Default Soft bread or no?

    Hi gang!
I am almost 7 months post-op and still haven't had any soft bread/sandwich bread. Toast? No problem. Crackers? Sure. I have a fear of soft bread expanding and blocking things in my test tube of a tummy. Is this a ridiculous thought? I'd LOVE half a turkey sandwich, just haven't due to wondering how bread is going to go down.

Someone talk me off my scaredy-cat ledge, please? lol

I eat bread and have had zero issues. I only eat small amounts, because if you eat more you get full very fast and it can cause some pain. Every morning I eat a Special K breakfast sandwich with sausage, egg, cheese and wheat bread. It sits really well and I have done this for months. It also helps with the bathroom "needs" that some of us have after surgery.

I eat bread too and pizza crust as well but to me I would rather eat the meat and good stuff rather than fill up on just bread. I order thin crust pizzas and if I eat a sandwich I get rid of one side of the bread and fold it over to get more of the good stuff. No issues at all either and I started eating bread about 5 months out. The only bread I cannot tolerate now that I used to love were buns at Arbys roast beef - either the type of bread they use or the roast beef or the sauce I don't know but something made me violently ill so I haven't tried it again

I eat bread. I try to use P28 bread when I can so I get its extra protein boost. One slice cut in half to make 1/2 a grilled cheese or 1/2 PBJ is all I can do. If I put something as dense as lunch meat on it, I could probably only do 1/2 piece (1/4 sandwich). As long as I watch the quantity, it's all good.

hmmm. I can eat bread, but it is a lot heavier on my stomach. Someone's mom made us fresh biscuits with eggs and bacon in the morning. I ate half of it, and I could not eat or drink anything for the next two hours. lol. I try to stay away from it, but you can always try it, just do not eat a lot from it.

I ate pizza on Saturday night, ate about 1/3 of a slice. It was three months ago since I ate pizza. Felt like an orgasm in my mouth! LMAO

I've tried pizza and was able to take a few bites before it felt like something was expanding in my belly. I had a small piece of Italian bread and it didn't happen. Haven't had any other bread.

I have had a couple of bites. No problems with it but it does fill you up real fast. I can only get down about 1/4 of a sandwich.

I have yet to try bread (not sure why) but my dietician said that granary or other breads with bits in are better to eat as the 'grainy bits' make it less likely to get stuck.

Alcohol is something I was NOT afraid of! LOL

I have done fine with thin crust pizza, and toasted breads...just curious about untoasted bread. (sandwich style) I'm looking forward to trying!

I feel exactly the same I've been told I may never beable to eat soft bread . I can eat toast but when I put beans on it it would go down properly and was really uncomfortable so I just stick to sniffing fresh bread for now lol.

I had my first piece of bread yesterday (half a pastrami sandwich on granary bread.) I probably ate half the half and avoided the crusts but had no problems at all - felt great! The only food I seem to be having a problem eating so far is..........(wait for it!) ..................SALAD!! I think it's the lettuce - just doesn't sit comfortably at all - could be worse
