    Default naturally from Dallas, TX

Besides being overweight I am getting the sleeve due to on-going medical issues. My surgery date is not yet confirmed but it will be within 90 days. I am very confused on the vitamins and which Multivitamin & Vitamin D would be best (would love it if it is not chewable). I hope to find additional information and recipes for great protein shakes from this support forum.

Welcome! You will find a ton of info on this site. Read through the forums and you can pretty much find the answer to any question you have. Everything I learned about the surgery came from here. Just remember that everyones journey is unique to them and just because something, good or bad, happens to some doesnt mean it will happen with you. I take regular vitamins, whatever multi the drug stores have bogo. I take vitamin d3 from walmart. My dr said for calcium, tums was fine but I get lots of calcium without them. I didnt buy fancy bariatric vitamins and Ive done just fine...10 months out down 75#. As for protein, dont overstock on anything. Your tastebuds change after surgery. Ones I love presleeve, couldnt stand after. The one thing I recommend is getting an unflavored protein powder you can add to other stuff. I still have one a day, syntrax nectar cappuccino, vanilla bean or cookie and cream. Best of luck on your journey:-)

Usually you dr picks the multivitamin and calcium citrate for you, but for my dr had his own vitamins called Bariatric Best and I hated those so with his blessing I switched myslef to Bariatric Advantage Mutivitamin with Iron and I just got calcium citrate from the drugstore. I take 3 vitamins per day as opposed to 1 with the doctor's suggestion but the ones I take don't make me sick so I do not mind taking more because the not feeling sick is more of a benefit. Good luck and may God be with you through this process!

    8 month goal- 185 lbs (Conquered 11.5.2014, 12 days before I hit 8 months)
    12 month goal-175 lbs (Conquered 3.5.2014, 12 days before I hit 12 months)
Final goal- 170 lbs. (2 lbs to this goal)
