I just wanted to introduce myself. I stumbled upon this site doing google searches. I have survery coming up on October 23rd. As the date gets closer I am starting to get a little nervous but know I will be fine. Here are some journey markers (if you will) as to what I have done thus far. Orientation - June 18
Initial consultation - June 23
Upper GI study - June 27
Dietician meeting - July 24
Psych Evaluation - Aug 13
Called to submit to insurance - Aug 14
Surgery approved (YAYYYY!!!!) - Aug 29
Surgery H&P and anesthesia consult - Oct 9
Pre-op Class - Oct 14
SURGERY DAY - Oct 23
My HW 256lbs, CW 238, GW 130. I'm 5'6.

Congrats and Welcome! So glad you found "us". I am 5'6" too, and my ultimate goal is 130 but I will be happy anywhere below 150.

I'd be happy with anything under 150 as well. That was my original goal but my nutritionist said 120 - 130 should be my goal since I'll most likely gain 10lbs back in the 2nd year.
I can't wait to see how well everyone does and share stories, both good and bad

Welcome to the group. I had surgery on the 23rd and I'm so glad I did it. Haven't really weighed myself yet, gonna wait till I have my post op appt on Tuesday. By then all of the fluid from the iv drips should be gone and I can get a true number. My goal weight is also 150 and I'm 5'4". Good luck on your journey and keep us posted.
