Just recently noticed my hair falling out more than usual. Is there anything I need to be doing?
From what I can gather from studying this forum on the subject of hair loss, the recommended treatments include use of Biotin and making sure that your protein intake is kept up to the required level. There are mixed reviews where the Biotin is concerned. Some say it works and others say it doesn't. I have suffered hair loss as well and have just made sure that the protein in my daily diet is correct, nothing more. I now seemed to have stopped losing and if all is well, I should notice some regrowth any day now. Don't worry, it will grow back, but in the meantime it is horrible isn't it?
Get the biotin vitamins and keep it conditioned and moisturized, I just starting seeing hair loss at 4 months for only a month, then it thickened up month 5, I hear it gets better.....I sure feel better and look sexy again...back down to a 16. I was in a 22/24 in April day of surgery, this sleeve is amazing...
Make sure you are taking good vitamins and getting adequate protein. If you are there isnt much to do but ride it out. I cut my hair in a shorter style. I also found a large barrel curling iron brush that gave my hair more a lot more body and disguised the thinning. It slowed about 10 months out for me. I read where others stop losing hair sooner. Lets hope you are one of those. My hair is getting much thicker again now. It will get better!
My hair started falling out at my 3 months and now I'm in my 4th month, it is horrible. I have been on biotin since before surgery and take my vitamins religiously. I started Nioxin shampoo regimen this week and will be cutting my hair quite short on Saturday. I know I get 70-85 g protein on average daily, so I'm getting plenty of that. I just have to ride it out and pray that it stops soon. Just a side effect of the amazing weight loss that I have to suck up and deal with.
