Not military (too big and too old!). But I often work with the military in Afghanistan and elsewhere. I am a great admirer of the USMC.

Thanks for the kind words. I am doing okay. Better, certainly, than I expected. But this is a long game and the weight comes off easier earlier than later.
Still, it was been good for me so far. Feels good. No complications. Makes many of the little physical details of every day life not so daunting. I wish you good luck in your quest, which if I read it correctly, begins in earnest with gastric sleeve surgery in three days times.

At this rate, before long you will need to change your moniker to "Former Big Matt" or "Thin Matt".

Inside some of us is a thin person struggling to get out, but they can usually be sedated with a few pieces of chocolate cake.

I was thinking of 'Lil Matt. But I don't want to get ahead of myself. It is early innings yet.
But thanks for the suggestions and the kind words. You seem to be doing rather well yourself. Maybe you'll soon want to be called "Joe Baby."
