I had my surgury in Mexico. Had to pay $2500 down and now I am paying $200 montly for 27 months. It has been a blessing to not have to come up with the whole amount. I went through beliteweight.com. They still call and email to check on me. Very impressed with the service.

I saved some & borrowed some. I also got a discount from the agency I went through. They were having a sale & I was looking for one. Keep searching the internet & check out the various Drs. websites. Try to start saving, even if you start very small. I was prohibited from getting the surgery years ago because of the $, but the prices have come down a lot. Start saving because there is the cost of the airfare, hotel, food, & miscellaneous. There is the cost of the bariatric supplies such as protein powder or drinks, etc. Weight loss is a multi-million $ industry & the products are not cheap (to me). I think if you start saving the Universe will meet you half way just like it did me. Good luck!

I went through weightlossagents.com. The surgery with Dr Almanza is $4500 if you pay with credit cards or cash. They do have a company that will work with you to do financing. If you finance it the cost of the surgery goes up to $7200 but it can be worth it if you want the surgery done now. They also have a lay away plan where you can pay as much as you want and then when it is paid in full you can schedule your surgery. I did not have the $4500 either (I just bought a house) so I went with the more expensive route and financed it. I figured with the down payment and the low monthly payments each month it was worth it to me. I also have the option to pay it off within a year and save on the interest.

That is my story and another option to think about. Hope it helps.

    Laura

Another idea could of been to get a personal loan and pay it off as fast as you can. It would of definitely not cost 7300 dollars...

Not sure about this other option, but if your company offers a medical flexible spending account, you could use that to spend on your surgery.

or another idea, borrow against your 401k, take out what you need and pay it back over a few years.

Richard - great ideas! I need a lot of dental work in addition to the sleeve. I can pay cash for the sleeve but not for the dental work. Thank you!

I clicked and began to read this post because I thought it was about financing excess skin removal/ cosmetic surgery, but the more replies I read, I became unsure as they sound like they are referring to financing the Gastric Sleeve surgery. Can anyone clear it up for me? I ask because I already had GS surgery, I'm looking for tips for paying for cosmetic procedures. Thank you in advance.

My post includes any reason you have a need for money. The flexible spending account can only be used for medical and dental purposes though.

Now that I look back at the first post maybe she was wondering about cost with surgery after the sleeve and then the posts went awry. Lol
