Default 8 days post op, no restriction

Hey guys, I dont think I feel any restriction. I can drink 8 oz of water in one go. I can take gulps no problem. Yesterday for dinner I had about 20 ounces of wonton broth over an hour, a spoonful at a time. I felt full but not like I had any restrictions. Any one else experienced this? I'm worried that I didnt get a normal sized sleeve. My 1st Post op follow up is Monday coming. Any information is helpful! Thanks guys!!!

That does seem odd. You may want to ask your surgeon how much of your stomach was removed.
I had 85% removed. So mines is down to only about 3-4 ounces. Drinking 8 ounces that quickly is impossible for me. And evening eating 20 oz of broth over an hour is out of the question. It would take the better part of my day to get 20 oz down.

I wouldn't worry too much yet. The restriction question comes up a lot here on this board. There are a ton of people, like me, who didn't feel much if any restriction during the post-op liquid phase or even much into the soft foods phase, but once they got on solid food, the restriction was definitely there.

It does seem a bit odd you can gulp liquids still. Since you have a follow-up coming up, I would just ask about it there.

Thanks for replying guys, I should mention that I dont ever feel hungry, so Im grateful for that. On my leak test I noticed on the Xray that it didnt look long and slender like a traditional sleeve, It looked like a regular stomach, just a whole lot smaller. Maybe that could be it? I'll be sure to voice all my concerns Monday. Thanks again guys!

I have mine 2 days prior to you. I definitely cannot drink fast. 6 oz of broth and I am stuffed. A few ounces of water and I need to pause.

So definitely ask. But if it works, it works. And you are losing - and at a nice rate too. So yay!

Month 9: 130 (reached target goal)

    Month 12: 123
Month 13-18: 121-123 (weight range on maintenance)

Current goal: maintain weight in low 120s. Exercise 6 days a week - weight lifting, yoga, biking, running, paddleboarding, and just being active.

Keep In mind, just because you CAN drink 20 oz of soup, doesn't mean you should. Stick to your guidelines.

I know, I just wanted to see how much I could handle since while sticking to my guideline (8 oz each hr, 64 oz for the day) I didnt feel the restriction described by almost everyone. I wont be making this a regular habit lol.

My surgeon told me I wouldn't feel the restriction with liquid and that's definitely been true for me.
