3rd day post op these gas painsv are reckoning my nerves!!;

Hey guys I'm 3 days post op from my sleeve surgery. My surgery went well but that night I had my nurse, medical assistant, and my doctors in a nervous state of mind. My bp and heart rate went sky rocketing to the roof. They thought I had a leakage and I had an emergency cat scan. Thank god it was negative cuz I was a nervous wreck. My bp finally went down and I was pleased about that. I'm holding up ok but the gas pain is so uncomfortable. I'm taking GasX which seems to be helpful but tell me guys how long should I be dealing with this?

I haven't had mine as yet but i've read on here that walking helps.

Oh boy I've been walking since the 2nd day of surgery. Every time I eat, drink, or do neither of those i still feel it. I mean I've been dealing with it fine but you know how things can be inusance lol

I did a lot of walking and the gas X strips were my best friend. I also used a heating pad on my back and lower abdomen to help. The gas can be very painful but keep walking, stripping (gas-x) and warmth to your tummy and back area. You will do awesome and it does get better.

They blow a bunch of air in there so they can do their thing. It's normal. And it will go away. Hang in there.

Have someone cup their hand and mildly tap over your upper back. It is a maunover like burping a baby. Helps get rid of gas.

Hello all! I can truly relate to this post! My surgery was Monday. Yes, the as can be bad. But, Gasx is also my friend. Also, I have a question, I know I'm only 5 days post op, but whenever I sip water etc... Not only can I literally feel it go ALL the way down, I can also feel it in my tummy. My stomach rambles!!!! I now call it drum roll please! That's kinda funny, but true. This a,m. I woke up with the drum roll. Does anyone know if this normal or how long this will last? It's just kinda unnerving to feel my vitamins etc going down.

Did you say eat or drink, I would have assumed you should be on liquid only, I was on liquid only for 3 weeks after surgery. Every surgeon is different, but you may not be ready for phase 3 yet, or I may have misunderstood. Small drinks so you don't swallow air which still gives me issues 6 months after my surgery.

@ Imblesssed71 my stomach was rumbling since day 1 lol. It was a feeling like i was hungry but the noise was extremely loud.
