How much did U Lose on the Pre-Op Diet?

I start my liquid pre-op on Monday and I was told I need to lose 10 pounds to have the surgery. How much did you lose on the Pre-op Liquid diet?

I lost about 9 pounds according to my scale. According to the doctor I lost 7 pounds.

The pre op diet seems silly but is really important for a few reasons. It prepares you for lots of protein shakes and that is a big emotional shock to a lot of us. We are used to eating a lot and then all of a sudden you can't eat anything. It's good to learn that before the trauma of having surgery. It also gets rid of some of the fat in your liver and makes the surgery safer. Safer is always better.

Just know that you can do this, you can be successful at this. It won't be easy, but you are strong enough to do it.

I only had to do a 1 week liquid diet and I lost 12 lbs in that week. I'm sure you'll have no problem getting the 10 lbs off. Good luck to you!

I am drinking Muscle Milk light and Premier Protein shakes and I have lost 8lbs since Monday. Hopefully I am on track for 20 lbs loss by my surgery date so we will see!

I'm on a 3 week pre-op liquid diet and have to lose 15lbs before I can have surgery. Through diet and working out Ive lost 10 lbs. in 9 days

First you need to know that the first few days are going to suck, no way around it. Most people say by day four they are ok. Of course that is like saying, the 3rd punch didn't hurt because my face was numb. lol

You also need to know that it's only two weeks of your life and that you are strong enough to get through this. It's all a mental game and it's a mental game after surgery as well, so you are just getting yourself prepared for after surgery.

Drink lots of water and keep yourself occupied. Whatever your hobby is, go do it and do it often.

I have a bunch of Samples from Jay Rob and Chickie to Pure Protein and Advocare. I also have samples of Bariactric Choice and Unjury but I want to save for after surgery since its medical grade.

Hi, I had 10 day low fat diet - so normal food just low fat. Lost about 14lbs and I was happy with that as I couldn't take another shake if my life depended on it (done lighter life and Cambridge diets in the past -BARFFF). Good luck x
