    Angry Weigth Gain

Anyone else gaining weight after 8 months for no reason? I never vary on my diet and eat 1200 calroies religiously, low carbs, high protein. I walk 4 miles a day. I do 200 sit ups everyday before bed. I have an ap on my phone, a fitbit and everything. I have gained 5 lbs in 2 weeks and its freaking me out.

I've gained about 2 pounds and I know exactly why. If you're gaining weight, have a look at what you're doing. It could be you're not netting enough calories. Figure out what your calorie burn from all the exercise is and subtract it from what you're eating and see if you're getting enough net calories in. That's all I can give you about counting because I don't count anything.

What else is going on in your life'? Extra stress will lead to changes in weight. Are you getting enough sleep? Are there any other medical changes or changes in your mood? All these can contribute.

If all that comes back negative, recommit. Protein, water, exercise, attitude. Stop counting. You know what you're 'supposed' to eat. Get that in first, eat what your body tells you it needs and make sure you don't overeat. I'd give that a good week or two and then reflect back. I bet you find you're turning the scale around. Don't forget, the scale is just one factor in our new life.

I'll probably get slammed for this advice and you'll get a lot about counting and logging and stuff. I offer this as both an instinctive alternate and something from experience. Good luck to you.

If you have been doing the same thing for more than 6 weeks, you should switch things up. Do different workouts, eat some more calories or different types of foods. My NUT gave me this advice and it has worked for me.

Don't forget to have your thyroid checked too. That little bugger controls a lot. Good luck!

Sleep and stress! How about trying some meditation before bed.

Stop counting calories, eat your protein first, drink water. You might need to increase your exerciser change up a bit. Your body can adjust. Good luck

Change everything. I hit the mother of all stalls at my 6 month stage and it took me 8 weeks to figure it out. I battled weight gain and no losing and it just about drove me nuts.

I changed everything I was doing. Eating, nutritional content, hydration, exercise, supplements. What ever I was doing prior to the stall, I did the opposite and kept changing until I got back to being a loser.

Lost more in the next 4 months than I did in the previous 6.

    Tinman,

I would appreciate hearing a little more detail about your stall if you manage to find the time. Mainly, what was your diet like before the stall and what changes did you find worked best for you?

Thanks! And if you don't have the time, no prob. I just read your other post where you talked about some of the bigger misconceptions regarding the gastric sleeve. I loved it. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.
