Pain when I eat or drink

Is pain the "tool" we're talking about? This is recent, so that's why I question it. Three bites or a sometimes one drink and I'm very uncomfortable. Maybe it's a good thing. It's not a stricture...the pain does lessen and the food does digest. Please let me know. 82 days since surgery and happy.

No. You should not have pain at this point. Call your surgeon.

I have pain with every meal now and have had it since about 6 months out the surgeon has no idea why but he has suggested its because my stomach shrinks between meals and so it hurt to eat. I also get pain in my intestines after eating and drinking. I wonder if it could be nerve damage after all i did to my body getting it to the massive weight I was at maybe i damaged the nerves inside and they are telling me its pain when its just normal digestion. I go back in September again and i am keeping a journal like they suggest to track if certain foods cause it but so far it doesnt seem that way.

I will talk to my GP if it continues. I may be eating or drinking too fast.

The tool is filling up quickly. Not to cause pain. Being out as far as you are, you shouldn't have pain. Try slowing down while eating and drinking. Sometimes we forget and do both too fast. It will cause discomfort but shouldn't be painful. Good luck...call your doc!!

The "tool" many of us are talking about is the restriction. Have you just progressed to full foods? I know that IF I didnt chew enough at first that I would have intense pains and also if I ate to fast. Being a year out it is a little more forgiven then it used to be but IF I eat to fast till this day it does get painful. Drinking to fast would also do that to me but it would go away alot faster then eating to fast. I have eaten to fast and then puked because of it so be careful. Godspeed on your journey.
