Not at all. Think about your appetite and when you get that satisfied feeling, it may be after 3 pieces of pizza or 15, what ever it is you know that feeling. After VGS you get that same feeling a lot earlier so you don't miss food and my experience is that I have never had such a full satisfied feeling before which I think is why I over ate most of my life. Yesterday I had a small ice cream cone at Dairy Queen, it was so good and I threw half of it out, I eat what I want just a lot less, I am so comfortable with how things r going I haven't even weighted myself in month, just like seeing everyone's reactions when they see me. Hope this helps.

Someone once said, "You can't have your cake and eat it, too." It's like ...you can't eat a whole cake and expect to be thin. It just never works!

Not because you have to pay it forward or backward to justify your own benefits. She means that this is YOUR accomplishment, and accomplishing that for yourself is enough. You do not have to fix everybody. And you do not owe anyone for the benefits you have earned. They are YOURS!" Ann2

I am just one month out and even though the weight is not coming off as fast as I would like it to. I do not regret my choice to have surgery. I wish I had a higher amount of by now but I have my thyroid to thank for that and all I can do is keep making good choices and increase my working out.

Before surgery, I was driving past one of my favorite restaurants and literally had a freak out and started to cry because it is a pig out place and i thought I would never eat there again. Well I am 6 months almost 7 past my sleeve and I can eat whatever I want just less of it. I got really sick when I first got my sleeve to the point I almost died. For the first 6 weeks I wished I had not done it. But now I am so glad that I did it. And even with the complications I would still do it again. Most people who have the sleeve end up happy. Notice I said MOST not ALL. There are times I wish I could eat a huge portion of something but it is very rare. One thing I do miss is eating and drinking at the same time. I am happy to talk more if you would like to message me.

I 100% am glad I had surgery, but I have had my moments of thinking oh my what have I done. In the beginning when I re-introducing food, and having trouble with not tolerating things was hard. I am now at a point I can eat what ever I want, but since I eat so little, I try and make good choices. I am enjoying shopping for tops now, can usually pick anything off regular rack (size large). I still have trouble finding pants that fit right but am in a size 18. Still have lots to go, but am trying to do right and enjoy the journey. I am still learning how to eat, and have found speed I eat has a huge affect.

Not. At. All. I choose to look at it like this... I can eat anything I like in small portions now as long as I work it into my day. I am not on a diet and nothing is forbidden. Now, the only way that works for me is if I food journal everything I eat and have an hour of hard cardio 5 days per week. I'm happy to trade this behavior for being obsessed with food\yo-yo dieting and killing myself slowly with a knife and fork!

Don't worry about hurting my feelings because I guarantee you not one bit of my self esteem is tied up in your acceptance.

I'm not gonna lie, the first couple of weeks were hard. I felt like I just wanted to chew something. Didn't regret even then...but now almost 2 months out....nope, not one regret!!!

I eat most any and everything with minimal restrictions and I think this is by far one of my most sound choices.

    8 month goal- 185 lbs (Conquered 11.5.2014, 12 days before I hit 8 months)
    12 month goal-175 lbs (Conquered 3.5.2014, 12 days before I hit 12 months)
Final goal- 170 lbs. (2 lbs to this goal)

    103 lbs lost... I ROCK!!!!!!!!!

I had so much fear and anxiety before the surgery, I had panic attacks. I read so many blogs and kind of knew what to expect but you can't really know how it feels until it is over. I do not regret having the sleeve at all. I am enjoying eating small portions of food and feeling full. I know I am losing weight and THAT feels really good. Seriously, you have to be absolutely sick of being overweight and ready to be thin and healthy. Its not a fad, you can't reverse it but you have to be ready. This group will help you on your journey if you ask for help. Good Luck!

The only thing I miss at this point is a cold beer. I don't like how the carbonation feels.

The restriction is what is the help I've needed that no other diet could give me. I'd go low carb and eat a 16oz steak 3x per week...never slowed down or managed realistic portions. I went to a Mexican restaurant yesterday for lunch where in the past I would get the lunch deal of guacamole and chips, 3 carne asada tacos and eat it all. I just got the tacos, ate one and a half minus the tortilla and gave my coworker the other. I was satisfied and really happy that I did not feel like I needed a nap after.

    Best of luck

Absolutely not! I have chosen to give up a lot of the foods that kept me addicted and wanting more (sugar, bread, pasta, rice, chips, etc). I don't miss the days of constant energy and mood swings. I don't miss always thinking about food and what my next meal will be and then feeling just awful physically and mentally after eating it. I don't miss fast food loaded with sugar, fat, and calories. I don't miss the bloating caused by these foods. I do love my new found love of fresh and healthy food. I love that my energy and mood stays at a high and consistent level throughout the day. I love feeling healthy all of the time. Best of luck with your surgery and your journey!
My weight at start of my 2 week pre-op diet was 232
My weight on the morning of surgery was 221
