Pre-op with Surgery Date next month 8/25/2014

Hi I'm Cathy. I had researched Weight Loss Surgery for a couple of years before I decided to make it a reality for myself. After attending Bariatric Help's conference in Atlanta in 2012, I decided a Sleeve was the best surgery option for me. My doctor in Pensacola, FL agreed and I've just completed my 6 month weight loss trial. Now we have a date set for surgery - 8/25 and I am getting super excited. I have been attending a local WLS support group for the past few months. I am so happy to have their support and knowledge and encouragement. Oh - I am 41 years old. I had a baby one year ago. I am 5'7" and about 271 lbs. I have no health problems to speak of (other than being obese) and take no medications, but I am showing signs of being pre-diabetic so this weight loss will ensure that I move away from that direction. I need to be fit and trim to keep up with my little girl and her older sisters (14 years old and almost 9). I look forward to corresponding with you all here. 45 days until surgery, and counting!! Congratulations on deciding on the surgery. I was sleeved July 1. It is worth it. It's like watching a child grow up...everyday you get stronger and experience so many things.

Well done. I have attended 3 sessions of what the health authority calls weight management. Building nice friendships with others following the same journey. amazingly I am losing a tiny bit of weight again. But being told about what life is like after the op is daunting but with huge health concerns we know this is the best for us and our future.

Hi catrolian! You and I have similar stats. I'm 5'8 and 272. I have a little 18 month old girl. :-). I have my procedure july 31. I'm sure it's going to be awesome for both of us!!!
