4 days out and I'm hungry

Well I got through my surgery last Monday and I'm home from the hospital. Everything went as expected although I am more sore than I thought I would be, but not terrible. In the hospital I had no appetite at all. Now that I'm home I'm feeling hungry. I'm drinking and have had broth and 1/2 a pre made protein shake. I'm nervous that I will be hungry and the sleeve didn't "work" and I won't lose a lot of weight. Is this possible?

there is something called headhunger where your brain is saying your hungry but, you really not keep up with the amounts you are suppose to eat and your head will catch up with stomach or lack of.

Right after surgery, hunger is usually acid reflux. Talk to your dr before taking anything but tums or other otc acid reducers should help.

Hi there and welcome to the sleeved side of life. I can't directly speak to the hunger because I've never really been hungry since my initial day of surgery May 1, 2012. I would venture to say you're probably "hungry" as more of a mental than a physical thing right now. It's very much a mind game we play with ourselves. Also, for me it was habits I had gotten into as well.
Give yourself some time, eat very slowly and make sure you're getting as much protein as possible. I know it's very difficult post op to get all the protein they want you to. You have to build up to it.
Yes it could also be some kind of acid reflux or something else you have to recognize post surgery. Your body is still settling in, all your insides have been disturbed and they don't like it.
