    Default Vitamins

So I went this weekend and purchased all of my vitamins that I will need to take pot op. Should I begin these all now or should I wait? I have read on a few other social sites that yes I should, it will be better for me in the long run and other's say no don't this can harm you badly during surgery. I am so confused! I go to my doctors office for my final visit until surgery on the 8th and of course I will ask them there. But I just really want to get a jump start on things that will be best for me on the other side of this surgery. I gave up my Dr. Peppers (Drank 6 20oz bottles a day) over the weekend and I am actually not dying from that........... Was really worried about that one, but they are gone and out of my house to never return............... Any advice on the vitamins would be much appreciated.

Not sure how they could hurt you. It's a habit that is worth starting early, just less to worry about after surgery. I started mine before my sleeve.

Congratulations on giving up the pop. I used to drink a ton of pop and frankly I don't miss it at all.

Good luck, 3 weeks left to go.

Walking is great. Get that going and keep it up. Right after surgery walking will be your friend. You should also start looking into more strenuous workouts that you like. Liking it is key. You can do those dance classes, step classes or bike classes. Just find something that interest you and then find a way to make it hard. I love biking, because it makes me feel young flying around on the paths and seeing how fast I can go. It burns a ton of calories as well, so win/win.

You are going to do great.

I have been taking my vitamins for about two months already and I don't even have a date for surgery yet. During my Kasier Options classes they recommend taking them.

    Hi Miockett.
I was given multivitamins for post op. The pre op diet you are on should have all the necessary vitamins in it, (optifast in Australia)
After the surgery your body doesn't absorb certain vitamins as well as it used to so you are required to go on heavy duty multivitamins.
In Australia we take Nutrichew chewable pills. They are really good. before the surgery my hair was falling out and I was so worried I would have to would have to wear a wig after a while because I have heard a lot about hair loss after surgery, but these vitamins are great. My hair has actually grown back thicker since the op.
