Thank you Bonnie...good luck with your journey!
Klecko...my weight loss was quick at first then leveled off to about 10-15 lbs a month for several months then at times I would not notice any difference in clothes and I would weigh in and realize only 5 or so lbs for the month and I would change something (more water, less protein bars and more veggies)...I've gotten to the point now where I feel like I know my bodies needs more intimately than ever before. I can tell when I need more greens, more protein, more water...its really strange because never in my life have I ever been this in tune. I have been within 10-15 lbs of this weight for probably 9-10 months and have comfortably worn a size 10 but I have been a lot more active the past 3 or 4 months and I think that has been just enough to get me to my size 9's. I don't do formal exercise because I stay active with my grandkids and working on our farm but I try my best to never overeat and try to eat the right things but not always. I hope you have much success!
I never realized that was an issue. I haven't drank since 2001 so it never came into play. I once got aggravated at a guy here three weeks out and and his main concern was whether or not he could still "party" - wtf? If that's someone's main concern then that is truly sad.
Thanks for posting your photos and wisdom, Tammy. Good to see you here, too, Sue.
Both of you look terrific.
I am wearing size 16 jeans, down from 24 - 26. I am happy with my progress so far and look forward to more.

So sorry about your friend!!
I am hoping I will develop an exercise addiction, as I have been so lazy the last 10 months since I started re-purposing furniture.
I have been sober 10 years so I really hope I am not tempted back there. Usually when I am tempted with anything it is because I am fed up with myself after binging
I want to go to counseling asap..waiting to hear from someone
Wow Tlwebb - you have done awesome! I'm two years out in September and I'm nowhere near my goal of 170. I've actually gained weight - can you suggest anything to help me start losing? I'm desperate to be able to get below 200lbs again. My lowest weight was 197, but not for long. I've given up breads, sweets and alcohol as of June 1, so I hope it will help me.
I am so sorry to hear about your friend - I will definitely pray for her family and friends.
Take care!
I think you are on the right track Carla...sweets have always been my worst enemy as I have had an unquenchable sweet tooth at times but since have the GS I can only take sweets in very small portions as it makes me extremely nauseated and I know that has been a big help for me...dairy is another thing you may want to look at limiting...I've noticed that when I have too much low fat yogurt I don't seem to do as well. I've been off milk for two years (only drink almond milk occasionally)...that may help some. Good luck!
Question for you, did you continue to lose weight after a year? I'm almost 7 months out and such a slow loser and I'm getting a little paranoid I won't reach my goal weight by a year out and then I feel like a failure. Just curious how the weight loss has been post 1 year? Congratulations on your success. You look great!

I'm not setting a time limit, from things I read it shows weightloss is for the first year, my question was is that true? I don't care if it takes me 2 years I just want to know how the weightloss is after 1 year and noticed the poster was 2 years out so who better to ask.

Sorry - didn't mean to sound critical. It's just that some people on here take three years and others lose it all in 6-8 months. Everyone is different. I'd feel terrible for anyone who felt they weren't being successful just because they weren't keeping up with someone else (I've been through that, so I speak with passion from experience).
No offense taken at all. I have to sometimes remind myself that in not in a race but on a journey to better and healthier me. I'm such a slow loser compares to others, but again when the negative thoughts come up in my head, I remind myself how far I've come and I will get there. Maybe within my first year, and maybe not, but I'm going to get there. Thanks for the reply.

TLS66 - Just wanted to let you know that I did continue to lose after the 1 year mark. I had heard the same thing and was wondering how difficult it would be after the year mark but I just kept doing what I was doing and the weight still came off...I would say it slowed down around 10 months the first time then picked up again and then I hit another slow down at about 16 months but it has been continual even if just a pound here or there.
