I have just confirmed my surgery date for the 11 june and am starting my pre op diet tommorow (gulp), any tips for me? My weight now is 253 pounds, i measure 175cm. I cant wait, nothing else ever worked for me and I am so thrilled my husband is letting me go ahead with the surgery. Does anyone on herehave roughly the same surgery date? Would be great to support each other.

Hi,
My doctor gave me a list of things that can help however after the first 3 days you'll be fine. Jello, very thin mash potatos, apple juice, lots of water, potted meat, chicken noddle (campbells soup) *** only the broth.. Hopefully you find this helpful I am having surgery tomorrow GOOD LUCK!!!!

I am only 7 days out and am here if you need to ask any questions. My doctor didnt require that I went on the 2 week diet pre op as I had already lost 30 pounds. Best of luck on your journey, you won't regret it!

I am am a few days into my preop diet, first couple of days were fine, but yesterday I was so craving anything other than powders and soup!! I ended up having a platter of sashimi as my darling family decided to pig out on chinese food. Felt really guilty today but it could have been worse, sashimi is healthy at least, i would have normally taken curry, sushi, spring rools etc !!! Feeling a bit down today and just want to speed up the surgery date, I am avoiding any invitation to lunch, dinner etc, as I havent told my friends about the surgery yet. i am worried they will try and talk me out of it. Desperately need some support !

You can do this. You are so close! It will all be worth it in a few weeks. I am so grateful that I only had to do liquids the day before surgery. I had already lost 25 pounds. You will have to eat only liquids after surgery. I am 2 weeks out today and have my first post op doctors visit tomorrow. Cant wait for the next stage. Purees! Yeah
