Dr. Clayton Frenzel-Arlington/Texarkana

I have an appointment with Dr. Frenzel because he come to my area once a month which makes all the pre-op much easier. I would like to know how others feel about this doctor? I went to another doctor for location who really pushed the gastric bypass, which I do not want, and he had only done 30 gastric sleeves which I did not feel was enough. I have also considered Dr. Kim and Dr. Nicholson but the travel back and forth to Dallas would be time consuming and time is a rare commodity in my life~! So please tell me what you think of Dr. Frenzel........

I can only say that please do your research and feel comfortable with your doctor. If it means going to Dallas, go there. Many people on this board go to Mexico!

Thank you I won't be traveling to Mexico! I will still have to have surgery in Dallas but all pre-op would be in my area.

Dr Frenzel is a VERY thorough barbaric surgeon. I had my surgery In September, about a month ago, but so far I have only seen him face to face twice. I saw him once at my first meeting and then again the morning of my surgery. That does bother me a bit; however, he does have an incredible staff. Many of the ladies on staff have been through bariatric surgeries themselves. I think you are wise to feel a red flag for a Dr. Who is pushing bypass as your first option. Rerouting of my personal internal plumbing was just not something I was prepared to do. It is a hard process, with pain, but the end goal will be worth it. I have lost 29 pounds in one month. I go to Arlington for my office visits, but my surgery was scheduled in Dallas.
