Not gonna lie - I'm freaking out. Any words of wisdom?! I'd appreciate it.
I was freaking out and had to try to control my breathing. The night before though I started listening to some soothing music and I heard a song that I felt God had played just for me. I then felt a peace come over me. If you are a person of faith, I would pray. If not, just try some deep diaphramatic breathing (look up how on YouTube) and that naturally calms you sort of ike a xanax would.
My "words of wisdom" would be this: nothing is as bad as we work it up in our minds to be. Many people have gotten this surgery and made it through with wonderful results. If they (myself included) can do it, so can you. Also, ask your surgeon for something to calm you before the surgery. They know that most everybody is scared before and are usually more than willing to give you something.
I will pray for you too.
Let us know how you are as soon as you are able.
I hear you. I had my 1 year anniversary over the weekend and it brought home to me how I felt just before the surgery. At this stage you are left with one option only. Faith. I recall that I had done my research, selected my surgeon, prepared my kitchen and all I had to do was believe that it would all go well.
It did. I've lost 36 kgs and reached my goal of 65kgs which is 6kgs below my surgeons goal for me.
I'm grateful beyond measure.
All the very best.
I'm having mine tomorrow too. Just finished getting my bag together. Just breathe. I'm sure tomorrow I'll be anxious.
You'll do great!!
