Just Turned 40, Married In Vegas, And Just Found Out I'm Pregnant!!...WOW!!!

On March 31st I turned 40 and my fiance took me to Vegas to celebrate. After some discussion we decided to get married while we were there. The day before leaving for Vegas he insisted that I take a pregnancy test. I was a few weeks late but I wasn't too concerned because I've been late before. Well needless to say I was pregnant! So within a week's time I turned 40, got married, and found out I was pregnant. Can you say "WOW!!!!" I know I did. But let me say this...I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!!! My life has turned around in such a way right after I was sleeved back in January 2012. That's when my new life journey started and has been oh so strong ever since. Blessings all around!!

Looking for some advice in regards to being sleeved and pregnant. I have my first prenatal appointment on April 22nd. I have a whole list of questions for my OBGYN. I've been reading up on being sleeved and pregnant but would love to hear your personal experience if you were also sleeved and pregnant. I would truly appreciate it. Besides being sleeved and pregnant, my only daughter is 20 years old!! So I'm literally starting over again. Lol! I know...I can't believe it either!!!

Well I was sleeved March 2012 and was down 105 lbs. I was just 20 lbs shy of my goal and BOOM....preg with #3. Everything has been normal as before my sleeve except low iron and dehydration have struck me twice. Keep up on your water and take an extra iron!! The worst part has been mental for me. I have tried to eat as I was before and I'm just so carb hungry. I try to keep them low, but then I feel dizzy and have no energy. I feel like I have less restriction and that scares me. I have gained about 40 lbs and I am at 32 weeks. I don't assume I'll gain much more...hopefully. Every time I see the scale, I want to break down and cry. It's hard to see it go the "wrong" way and there is nothing you can do about it. ACE on here has just had a baby as well and she has lost an amazing amount of weight and is back to her pre-preggers body in a short time. Good luck and congrats!

Thank you so much for your response. This what need to hear. I am 8 weeks pregnant and the cravings are already in full affect. The good thing about my cravings are its things that should be eating...PROTEIN!! I've been craving beef jerky, sharp cheddar cheese, beans (black eyed peas and black beans)and pickles!! Not craving too many carbs so far but it's still early. My concern is the weight gain. I'm now at 165 and I started off at 278. My eating habit is pretty much the same as before I found out I was pregnant - protein, fruits, and vegetables. I see you gained 40 lbs. And that's not bad at all. I wonder if I continue with how I'm eating now if my baby will be healthy enough. I do crave salty things too. So I do eat Salt and Vinegar chips here and there but I watch myself. Instead of eating 6 smalls meals a day I now eat 8 small meals a day. I rely want to ensure my baby is getting all the nutrients it needs. I haven't gained any weight so far and actually lost 4 lbs. So I'm concerned about that too. But I am eating pretty much all the right things. Maybe I need to up my calories a little. Not sure. I'll figure it out with my doctor. My husband is very supportive and makes sure I'm eating healthy also. So that helps. Taking my prenatal vitamins religiously also to ensure my baby is getting what it needs. I'm really conscious of this be a use I am 40 and considered high risk. So I gotta watch what I do, what I eat, and how I handle myself. I do need to drink more water tho. So I'm typing and sipping on water as we speak. Thank you for your response. It was really really helpful.
