    Default Iced Tea??

So, I generally follow instructions pretty darn well. BUT. I loathe water. I am doing "ok" with my fluid intake since surgery, but am getting sick of Crystal Light, Zero Vitamin Water, and G2. Pre-op, I was a big iced tea drinker. I was told that I was to stay clear of caffeine, now, but I can't walk into a restaurant or convenient store and get decaf ice tea. LOL

Here's the question: Who out there is drinking caffeinated ice tea, regularly? is this really a problem?

Thats all I drink....diet iced tea. Cant stand water or flavor enhancers. Havent had a problem with it at all. Didnt start the diet tea til about two weeks out because caffeine is dehydrating and didnt want to chance issues right after surgery. I say drink up:-)

4C makes all sorts of flavors, including iced tea...I like the lemonade/iced tea combo one.
They come in individual serving packets too so I keep a box of them at work for when I want something other than plain water!

Be careful tea can be dehydrating. Supplement with it don't rely heavily on it. I actually got dehydrated by drinking too much tea not enough other items

I'm sipping Starbucks iced green tea now. It's a treat once or twice a week.

My go-to drink is SoBe Lifewater. It's available at Target, Walmart and Costco, where I buy it.

Again, thanks for all the responses!

The SoBe Lifewater is way too sweet for me, and watering it down wasn't much of a help. The apple/pear one is really nice, just too tart. I did have an iced tea w/one Splenda yesterday and it was FABULOUS. I will treat it as a treat....made the rest of my fluids go down easier since I was a much happier camper. LOL

I have one packet of crystal light with caffeine in it once a day. The Caffeine argument is just another thing that doctors can't agree on. I make sure I get extra water, because I know it can dehydrate you if you drink too much caffeine and too little water.

Think of it this way, a lot of people are on water pills, even after surgery (including me) and didn't get dehydrated. Those pills make you pee a lot more than caffeine will. Just add an extra bottle of water when you do it.

I was so tired after my surgery that caffeine was the only thing that kept me moving, so thankfully it hasn't killed me yet.

Hi, I love sweet tea also. If you can find Mio water enhancers by you...they make a flavor called sweet tea and it is unbeleivable. No calories, no aspertane. One little container is enough to do a case of water depending on how "sweet" you like it. Good luck!
