What kind of exercise do you like to do? I participate in a yoga class at the gym a couple of times a week and I walk about 1/2 a mile on my lunch hour 2-3 days a week.

Exercise? Really No seriously I am trying to be more active. I have a sit down job (accountant) and it's tough to get up and get moving. I put in long hours Monday-Friday. When I get home the last thing I want to do is exercise.
I do now have a walking buddy so I hope that gets me up and moving!
I prefer to do my workouts at home - I walk my dog 3-4 days a week 1/2m to 1 m (weather depending). I do stretches on my exercise ball every day, cardio (Wii activities) every other day - on opposite days I do weights (3-5 lbs depending on the routine.)

I play the Wii too, I forgot about that one. I have a lot of the exercise games for the Wii (Biggest Loser, Jillian Michaels, Wii fit, Wii fit plus, and EA Active). I think the EA Active is my favorite.
I think they all help but I'm just not where I want to be (weight wise).
I didn't know there were so many workout programs for the Wii my wife has been wanting to get one for awhile so I may have to look into it now.
I also wasn't aware how many workouts are available for the Wii it has been getting really hot where I live so this might be a nice indoor workout alternative.
There are a lot of Wii games that are great workouts. I love them all. Really all the games for the Wii are better than a lot of other gaming consoles. You are up and moving. Be sure to stretch first though before jumping right into the exercise.
Are there any other gaming consoles that even have fitness games like the Wii does? You would think as popular as Wii fit has been they would be adding them to other consoles too.
I don't think so. Most other video games are sit down gaming consoles and you just gain weight. The Wii really has a ton of games that you are up and moving. Even with the spots ones (bowling, baseball, etc.) You stand up for these.
It is so hot here that I do water arobics and laps. About an hour or so in the water each day.
Currently I am walking, but I would like to begin a weight/strength training regimen. I am 11 days post op. In two weeks I would like to start swimming. Should I wait until 6 to 8 weeks before weight training, or should I start sooner?

There have been so many snowstorms here in NJ this winter, it has been hard to get out. I have been using the treadmill at home about 3-4 times a week (boring! and it squeaks from years of no use at all, so I have to turn the TV up to full volume just to hear it). I also belong to a gym nearby, and have been going about 2-3 times a week. I love the aqua fitness classes and truly don't mind the recumbent bicycle at all for cardio workouts. I just got a full medical release from my doctor about 2 weeks ago, met with my trainer, and got a new workout routine including using the weight equipment at the gym, plus some floor exercises for my core abdominal muscles...trying to get into the new routine...it's painful the day after, but a good pain if I must say.
