We had a full-blown crazy spouse who was slapping people and using racial terms towards the Mexican staff but other than that, I don't know what you mean by crazy. Like going to the club kind of crazy?

Just as anywhere you travel now a days. Take precautions not to flash your cash. IF you are bringing a large amount with you it is always better to have it seperated before hand. This stops you from having to display money while counting it. I used to keep all my hundreds in a money clip and twenties loose in one pocket so i could pull them out by feel. I kept 10, 5 and ones in the other pocket so it didnt look like I hade alot of cash.

There was an earthquake when I was there. My DH and I had a room on the top floor of the Ticuan hotel and the room was swaying quite a bit. I was napping and I thought my DH was trying to wake me up by shaking the bed. I told him to stop shaking the bed and he replied it wasn't him. LOL

Depends on where in Mexico I think, there r safer area than others.

I had my surgery on 3/8 in Tijuana with Dr Almanza. Nothing crazy, in fact it was all pretty normal. You won't need much cash. Everything is included. I would recommend downloading Google Translate if you have a smart phone. For the most part you'll be able to communicate with the nurses and staff.
