But it hard to watch your scale stuck I had my sleeve on 03/03/14 had zero issues didn't even have gas, nausea or pain did not even use my pain meds to me it felt like a walk in the park, but now I'm wondering is there something I'm missing to make my scale like me again... The scale will move again. I'm almost a year out and I've been through several stalls. At one point, I started to think I would never see the scale move again. I figured I had lost all that I was going to lose and then one day out of nowhere, the scale moved. I'm losing a little slower, but that's ok. I had given myself a goal weight of 140lbs, and I now weigh 149lbs. I'm actually satisfied with this weight as I don't want to "look sick". Everyone calls me skinny. I really set the goal of 140 because I wanted to give myself a little wiggle room just in case I gained a few pounds. At this point, it seems as though I'm still in the losing stage. So, I'm just going to enjoy the ride. I went from 220lbs, wearing sizes 16-18 pants and XL tops to 149 wearing sizes 6-8 slacks and XS-S tops. My jeans are still a size 10, but I'm ok with that for now.

Biggest suggestion is stop weighing in every day. Once a week is sufficient and you will not notice the small stalls. Another thing you can do is MEASURE, usually when the scale stops it is because your body is trying to catch up to the weight lose and many times it is re-distributing your weight. You will fidn that many times the scale stops so the tape starts and vice versa. It is a marothon not a sprint.
LIFE is NOT a Spectator SPORT!!

    Highest weight ----343 lbs 2008
    First Consult weight--288 lbs 3/10/13
    Surgical weight ---266 lbs 5/10/13
Lowest adult weight 237 lbs 12/03/13

Stalls happen. My first one happened about three wks out for ten days. Have had several over the ladt four months. Just follow your program, weigh and measure your food and the scale will move when your body is ready:-)
    Margaret
    1 month: 25 lost (194-10 day stall)
    3 months: 9 lost (173-halfway to goal!)
    5 months: 7 lost (161-1week stall)
    7 months: 4 lost (152-4 week stall)
    9 months: 1 lost (145-1 month stall)
    10 months: 0 lost (145-2month stall
    14 months: 0 lost (145-7 month stall)

My goal: 145...originally 129 but my body said no!

The biggest advice I can give is to put that scale away. I know that is hard, but its the best thing for your psyche. Weigh yourself once a week and then put that scale away. It can really reek havoc on your psyche. Stalls are hard, but they are a part of this process. You are doing everything right, your body will catch up.

You can be so mentally prepared for the 3 week stall and not come close emotionally. That's what happened to me. I was miserable. If you haven't done so already, take your measurements. I guarantee that you're losing inches while your body acclimates to your loss. If you're weighing every day, stop for awhile. It can be very frustrating to weight every day and not see the scale move - especially in the beginning. You're doing everything right. Just remember the basics - protein, water, exercise. Keep that going and you'll make it through your stall and the numbers on the scale WILL go down again. Don't worry.

Hide your scale. Get it out on your one month from surgery anniversary. Continue doing what you are doing, which sounds great by the way. You're in this for life, not today or this week, no worries!

I agree with the rest. If you stress over a stall then hide the scale. I don't stress over stalls and I weight every day. Pee then weight works for me. But I did find when I had a stall I would up my protein and carbs and it worked for me. Stalls are good. Its your body catching up and the best part they don't last

I am three weeks out as well and I've stalled, haven't lost anything since my 1 1/2 week check up post op and I've not cheated either. I don't have much of an appetite and I'm really more thirsty (and tired) than anything. I was wondering how this is even possible when I am barely eating anything at all. Guess I'll have to put the scale away like everyone else is saying and keep doing what I'm doing. Eventually the scale will show me some love again right?

Your mind is still in a diet mentality. It takes time for your mind to realize that you aren't on a diet and the changes are physical and permanent. Don't worry about the day to day. The weight will come off in time, and now that you are sleeved you have that commodity in spades. I'm in your corner!

From what I understand the stalls are just a part of this marathon process. That being said....Can I ask what you are doing for exercise?

If you are doing everything you should and NOTHING you shouldn't, hang in there, you had approx 85% of your tummy removed. Unless you are sabotaging yourself, you WILl be successful. I promise!! Up your protein and your liquids, that always gave me the extra boost I needed if I was hung up for several days, not moving up or down. Like you, I was very rigid, I did nothing I shouldn't. My weight loss pattern was to go down a pound or two, then up a pound or two.....I'd do this for several days or a week, then it would be gone and on to the next pound or two. I never hit a plateau like many talk about, but THIS is how I lost weight the entire time. I reached my doctor's goal in five months, my personal goal, which was 5 lbs less, a month later. Good luck, you haven't missed a thing, you're doing what you're suppose to do!!!

I had a stall about a week ago, it lasted 7 days. All it took was cutting carbs to under 10g a day. I also walk around 5 miles a day to work and back. I've lost half excess weight in month playing the low carb game. I know males and females lose weight differently, you may want to give it a try. Do the Atkins induction phase if you can get down fish, chicken and eggs at this point.

    Good Luck!

First let me say I need to practice what I'm about to preach, but I'm also saying this because I did it.
Have someone in your house HIDE the scale. Then, only weigh once a week. Weigh in your birthday suit first thing in the morning right after you pee. Then have them hide the scale again. This is what I had my husband do for me in the beginning because I was on that thing every day and that 3 week stall had me obsessed!
Well, I'm a little bit farther down the road now and have hit a stall again. He stopped hiding it and I have started weighing again every day so it's time to hide the scale again. I'm telling ya, that scale can be your best friend sometimes, but it is also your worst enemy if you use it every day.

You don’t have to be perfect. You just need to be better.

    Revision stats:
    3/2/20 Pre-op: 197.5
