I have, but I find that it makes me burp, similar to if I am chewing gum. Sometimes it is worth it, other times it isn't.

Peppermint helps with gas too, I had peppermint oil to help and if you bite into a gas X gel tab, peppermint comes out.

If it's sugar free and doesn't give you gas (from sucking on it, everyone's different) then why not?

    I miss chewing gum!! *cry*

My dr. recommended sugar free peppermints for nausea. I keep them with me all the time. But I would be careful many of those have tons of carbs when you eat lots of them. 3 pieces of sugar free worthers has 15

Altoids helped immensely, but unfortunately I needed them right after I woke up, and they wouldn't let me have anything until after my swallow test. Every surgeon is different though so you might get lucky. You need to make sure that you don't swallow any of it though - that would be really bad for your sleeve... and for you.

If you can't have anything until your swallow test, just ask for IV anti-nausea medication. I had that stuff around the clock for the first 3 days, all through my IV and I really needed it.
