Phentermine???

Is anyone taking these? How do you guys feel is it working for you? Are you still taking them after surgery?

I just started taking mine on Sunday there 15 mg and I don't have food cravings anymore and I don't eat just because I've stoped drinking soda just water now so far I've lost 4 pounds my surgery is on march-10-2014 and I have to losse 12 lbs before surgery!

Good question..I have some left over from the last "Diet Quack Doctor" I went to. I thought about taking them to loose weight before surgery but I would not take after. I feel I need to be in the right frame of mind going into surgery and taking a pill is really not the way to go. I would love to hear other peoples opinion about them.

i have took them before i lost about 25 pds in 3 mnths after i would work out it took me awhile to stop sweating and just taking the trash out i would break in to a sweat but other than that no other problems

Not a good idea before surgery .. Can increase heart beat .. Mighty be noticed when you have your surgeon appointment .

I would think they would be okay to use short term to loose that little bit, but I wouldn't take them long term. I tried them years ago and they turned me into an idiot. They seriously made my short term memory a thing of the past. But they will help control hunger issues.

You need to be careful what drugs you are taking before surgery because it can interfere with anesthesia. For example, no aspirin or ibuprofen and tjose type drugs two weeks prior, no fish oil two weeks out because all of these cause you blood to clot very slowly. I wouldnt risk taking them.

Good tip about the fish oil. Vitamin World mgr told me to take lots of fish oil,after my surgery.

Be very careful and check with your Dr before taking phentermine!! I did my pre-op work today and they saw on my record that I had taken it in the past. The admitting nurse said that you have to be off of it for 2 months before surgery!!! She said they would have had to postpone my surgery if I had taken it recently. Luckily, I tried it for a few days last Summer and it gave me palpitations so I stopped.

I just started taking them on Tuesday 5/20 and it makes me go 100 miles an hour, since Tuesday last night was the 1st night I was able to sleep
I have not had any food cravings at all really I have to force myself to eat, it makes me feel so dry it's like I can't get enough water in me. I do find myself sometimes feeling real blah....... but since I started taking them I am so much more active.

I haven't had the surgery yet, but I took that med for 9-10 months, and also Topimax ( off label use). Both were prescribed by an MD who specialized in non surgical weight loss but to be honest I never found any benefit to the pills. They didn't seem to make me less hungry, but I think I'm more of an emotional eater ( and being Italian I love the wrong foods). I wouldn't introduce new meds without consulting your doctor.

I took them for 3 months before my surgery and got off of them 2 weeks before my surgery date. I am 3 years out. I have taken them twice in the 3 years. After loosing 90 lbs total in the first year or so. I only lost 10 lbs with them after surgery. Then gained it back. Working on eating right and exercising.

I love the energy it gives me.....and I usually only take 1/4 of the pill....don't remember the total dosage though.
But I am 15 months post-op.

Hello!! I really need help and have been thinking about taking this med. I get hungry pains for all the wrong things and I am at a stand still since January, I moved and it haven't been good cause actually I gained about 8-10lbs. Just from stressing and eating wrong things . Do you have any suggetions? I only loss 70 pounds with surgery and lately I been walking hills and 2miles each morning for three weeks now, But I think the biggest problem is bread and sugary drinks!! So ..should I try these meds for appetite suppressant. I am 14 month post op...
