You are taking a big step towards a healthier and happier new you. Over time, you will want it less and less. The further out you get, the better it feels.
No problem
You will be fine. I loved coke and dr pepper / mrpip I used to drink almost a six pack a day
I got scared of getting diabetes so I stopped completely on drinking any carbonated drinks. It's been 1 year 3 months that I don't drink soda
No diabetes yet but I didn't loose any weight either which I swear I was gonna loose lots leaving the soda but no regrets here.
It's all for a better us.
Push through the headaches and you'll feel a lot better. When you drink a lot of soda, your body becomes accustomed to having lots of caffeine put into it all day long so you become physically dependent. Withdrawing from soda means you'll have a headache for a couple days but it does go away, promise.
Speaking of caffeine, here is another reason to drop soda. I used to drink way, way too much coffee in 2012. I mean, several cups a day. I worked night shifts and just drank coffee a lot. I started to monitor my HR and realized that my resting heart rate was ON AVERAGE ~100 beats per minute. I like to donate blood and I wasn't able to do so at all that year because my HR was 100. It made me really sad.
I now limit myself to 1 cup a day, on the rare occasion I'll have 2, and I have days where I don't drink it too. I am no longer physically dependent and my average resting HR is 65.
I used to have a 32 oz Coke every morning. I have not had one in 40 days! My fiancee drinks Mt Dew, and that is not a trigger for me in anyway, but this weekend I was out at the bar and my friend and a can of Coke, and I wanted it sooo bad! It is silly, but I just want some carbination so I can BURP! But I didn't have any, I had a water instead.
Soda drinking isn't a biggie for me now. But if i must, it needs to be a Mountain Dew. So you say no sodas ever after the surgery? Oh, oh,
Well how about thinking about what those sodas do to the battery in the car, so it's doing the same inside of your stomach. Maybe as you drink, you'll think of that and maybe can put one or two cans down per day. Just a thought.
Have not had a pop/soda since my surgery in September
Had a sip of my sons root beer the other night out at dinner
Omg
Ugh!!!! Yuck the sweet!
I loved my pop, cream in coffee, sugar etc
One wise woman said to me "nothing tastes sweeter than weight loss"
Yup
Black coffee and water (with lemon milo)for me
You can do this
Get rid of those empty sugar drinks!
