Hi,
Congrats on your surgery success! I am getting the sleeve in a few months.
Dr. Holover is my surgeon. I have had a hard time finding any of his patients
to talk to. Do you mind letting me know how you are doing? How your process
has been? What you think of Dr. Holover.
Thanks!
Phyllis
Does anyone out there have any info on Dr Holover? I am hopefully having my surgery in the next few weeks and I am wondering if anyone else has run into any of the problems that I have been facing? Oftentimes i will ask a question and get an incorrect answer from one of the staff, (not Nicole, the PA) whether about what which requirements I need completed/can be done in their office and other issues like when I can schedule my surgery. I was already told my Dr Holover by my initial consultation that I could do it 90 days, to the day, after I started the process. Then I was told that I could schedule once all my clearances were in. Then, I was told that I could schedule by my pre-op appointment, which I had today and I still haven't been allowed to schedule!
Additionally, was the surgery inpatient or outpatient (23 hrs) if anyone here had it? The Dr gave me a whole speech about how they like to do 23 hrs to save on deductibles, but now i am told that it will be inpatient, which means that I need a prior authorisation.
Any other comments that you have would be appreciated!
I didn't have any problems at all. The staff made the process very easy. I would contact your insurance company to get an information on what they require. Don't forget things change all the time with insurance companies and it's best to contact them directly. My insurance company asked for 6 months of weigh ins and after that I was approved. It depends on the type of surgery you are getting as well. Every insurance company is different though. My surgery was considered inpatient because I stayed overnight. Again, yours maybe considered outpatient due to what your insurance will allow. Unfortunately insurance rules everything. Good luck!
