SO it's 3 days away and I'm happy and nervous but excited too all wrapped into one. What did you drink for your pre op diet? I was thinking about Glucerna - Any thoughts on this??
Hi, Stacy. I am 3 months out and have lost 47 lbs. I still go back to a liquid diet from time to time to rest my new stomach that is still healing and gets sore if I over eat and usually vomit. I don't like water, but I put some crystal light in it, tea or coffee with just splenda, protein isolate { it can be mixed with water} ,jello, chicken broth, and sugar free popsicles. The first couple of days can be hard. Then you will adjust and soon have your new sleeve. Good luck.
My nutritionist and surgeon recommended Bariatric Advantage shakes for my pre-op diet. Also, premier protein shakes sold at Costco and SAMs club but they are not quite as good source of protein but easily accessible and lots of protein/low sugar. I'm also flavoring my water with diet s apple and crystal light flavor packets.
Hi Sleevless - thank you for the input - my dilemma is I just got approved yesterday and by the time these shakes are delivered I'll be halfway through my first week........I was hoping for something more 'local' but if I need to I will def order this stuff
I'm having my surgery in Calgary Canada and they are pretty strict withe the pre-op diet. 21 days of 5 Ensure HP shakes per day and water. Can have 3 other sugar free drinks per day but no soda. Diabetics can have Glucerna. I start my prep on feb 12.
So I begin tomorrow my liquid diet. I went this morning to buy some glucerna - we'll see how this goes for now.........I keep saying in my head - one day at a time Thank you to all who have supported me here with your words of wisdom!
