I just want to introduce myself and say hello. This is such an overwhelming experience. There are so many terms and abbreviations, groups, and posts that I've been reading and trying to get a better understanding.
I went through a roller coaster after finally deciding on the surgery to paying the deposit, losing the balance then having insurance cover me only to have my DH lose his job during the 6-month qualification period. Now we have excellent insurance but no bariatric surgery coverage!
Luckily I was able to save and pay for the surgery scheduled in the next 3 weeks. I could really use some support. Everyone is so informative, interesting, and positive. I absolutely love the mood here when I read all the posts-even ones that share struggles and heartache.
It's good to know you're not alone. I would love any push in the right direction so that I may purchase the proper dietary liquids and supplements, and how to handle the post-op care on our own.

Yes this site has been so much help to me thru all the emotions you go thru before surgery. Hurry Up and Wait!! Im so sick of it. Im counting down to Ins approval in the next few weeks. Been at it since November 2013. I hope the best for you and keep hanging out here!!

I was sleeved on 1/13/14 and I'm still in my post op liquid diet, but this was the best decision I ever made. I am at a weight currently I haven't seen since 2004 and I couldn't be happier. My DH is amazed at the surgery process and how well I've bounced back.

Do you have a sample diet to follow after surgery? If not I think I can find the one I was given on my hospital's website and give you the link.

I started on November 1, 2013 and hope to get my insurance approval next week. It seems like it's one nerve wracking thing after another at times, doesn't it? What if they say no? What if I didn't jump through all the hoops... I hope you hear from them soon!
