I've seen a few postings on the forum about the 5 day pouch test. Just curious of your experiences and at what point did you do the test.
I have considered doing this myself. I can tell that my sleeve has stretched a little, but I'm nowhere near out of control. I don't want to lose anymore weight, so I'm a little hesitant. I know at about 18 months out that your suture/staple line will finally allow your stomach to stretch. I'm at 14 months now.
Have you tried it yet? What makes you consider doing it now?
Click on the link that mscheveus posted above. It outlines what to do. I believe it's liquids for two days and then you introduce soft foods a day, etc....from what I've read it is a test and it also helps to reset it if you haven't gone too far. Plus, it will jump start weight loss if you are at a stall. Good luck!
I'm on day 2 of the 5 day pouch test. I'm 11.5 months out and "bad carbs" have begun slipping back into my diet. I'm using this as a way to detox and get back to basics. Yesterday was a bit rough (I think more mental than anything) and today I have a bit of a headache but I'm determined to push through. I'm 11 pounds from my goal and hoping this will break my 2 month long stall.
Well, today is day 3 for me and so far so good. Days 1 and 2 were not to bad, but again I am only 9 months out and 1/2 cup still fills me up, even soup. One thing I am confused on and I am hoping to get an answer to is the soups, with days 1 and 2 supposed to be a liquid but the directions said not all soups need to be blended, the Ham and Split Pea and the Lemony Chicken, neither say to blend so I didn't but there is chunks of meat and such...so, basically your not really doing an all liquid right? I emailed Kaye and am hoping she gets a chance to reply soon..I already feel like the blew it. Day 3 and I had so much soup left that I just continued to eat those. I an feeling a little hungry now and again which is odd to me because I never feel hunger, but it isn't a bad thing at all! I haven't had any headaches or nausea or the like but I hadn't slipped in my diet for to long so perhaps that helped. I will probably end up eating the rest of the soups for day 4 and 5 because that is how much they made and it is only me and my husband eating them, heh. So I guess I'll be doing the 5 day semi-liquid diet.
If anyone here knows for sure if you are actually supposed to blend ALL soups please let me know, I'll end up redoing this all over again but at least I will be doing it right. If not, if/when I get a response from Kaye I'll come let you all know!
Day 3 over, thank goodness. By the end of the night I felt horrible. Starting day 4. So far so good....... I don't believe you need to puree any of your soups. I ate Wendy's chili the second day and didn't puree. I don't remember seeing in the book that it needed pureed. I'm weighing tomorrow morning so I will let you know if I see any changes on the scale Wish me and my family luck today, lol
Good luck to you all.
