Really seeing my weak spot

So, I have been really paying attention to when I have issues with food and overeating. It's at home and almost only when I'm bored at home. When I'm at work I eat my lunch, grab almonds for a snack and that is it.

I am curious how others deal with this? I know the usual, keep yourself busy, but I'm talented, I can eat while I'm busy.

i feel the same way!! i guess we gotta stay busy! no sitting at home. in the month of jan i have only lost 2 lbs but its all my fault

I crochet. It takes two hands and don't want to get the project dirty with food.

this is my problem too. I like the idea of crocheting. looking foward to seeing other comments and ideas too.

I drink water. I find that when I'm bored it's more about oral fixation than anything else. For me too it's easier to stay occupied at work than at home when I'm relaxing with friends and family. Home is where I stumble making good choices. Lowfat string cheese is an excellent way to occupy 10 minutes of eating.

I am not a "bored" eater but sometimes I am left wondering if I "should" eat something or not, because I don't have that "hunger" anymore, so it's a little confusing to me sometimes. I do plan my meals out and tell myself "I am not to eat anything but this". I do keep myself busy. With work, reading, going online, playing video games, going to the gym to walk, all of that.

And nooooo junk food at my apartment. It's much harder to make bad choices when they aren't around you.

I am a bored eater too.. always at home.. at work I can eat healthy... during preop I took up a new hobby... painting... and finding games to play online... seems if my mind is occupied I can derail myself... but u say u can do both??

If you are able to eat and play a video game at the same time then you are playing the wrong video game. Time to find something more challenging and engaging!

If I'm working on something, like writing or responding to emails, it's so easy to snack while I do that. Of course as long as my keyboard doesn't get dirty.

I am a bored eater too. My husband works nights Wednesday - Saturday and sleeps all day Saturday and Sunday so when my kids are with their dad, I'm basically all alone. Before my surgery, I ate ALL DAY!!! And all night too!!! Well, after my surgery when I was alone, I wanted to eat so badly but I fought the beast and didn't do it. Instead, I played "Just Dance" on the xBox for a little while and then watched a good show on Discovery Crime Investigation. I love that channel. Just fight it and try to stay busy. It's going to be a tough habit to break, but we can do it. It's an uphill battle but it can be won!!
