*Warning* TMI - Nonstop bleeding after weight loss?

I have been on birth control pills for 9 years and have never had a problem. But last month, 10 months post op I got my period normally, it ended for a week, and now I've had it nonstop for 2+ weeks. I did email my doctor Monday and she did thyroid and blood count tests that came back normal. Today she suggested I go on a higher dose birth control pill and that makes me nervous...but so does the thought of bleeding forever. She also suggested I could stop my pill temporarily and try a short round of progesterone. Has this happened to any of you? If so, how did you fix it? I am down 124 lbs in 11 months but lost the most of it in the beginning which is when would I have expected something like this, so I'm a little upset over it

Ihave not been sleeved yet, but I have had something similar happen to me. Mine had to do with age and the production of eggs and the lining of the uterus. My OB suggested a D&C or for me to go back on birth control (which I was not on board with since I have had my tubes tied) I did the D&C and it did correct after that. My other option was disblasion(sp) which if it happens again... will be the direction I go.

I would get a second opinion if I was you. I would have them check for fibroids. I have them in my womb and it causes me to bleed havey and long. Congrats on your journey and good luck to you

I had one that lasted 3 weeks when I was in perimenopause.

How old are you? Could your hormones be waning and gearing up for menopause?
