Hello everyone! I pretty much lurk here and rarely post, but thought I should share some things about myself and this journey. I am scheduled for the sleeve on 1/21/14 with Dr. Almanza in TJ. I am kind of nervous but excited as well. After reading so many of everyones posts here I feel like my goals are reachable. My family and friends are behind me in this decision as well.

I have been overweight all of my life, with multiple weight loss and gain cycles, I can lose the weight but can't keep it off. The last stretch I lost about 80lbs and gained 50 of it back in nursing school. I really feel my weight now since I am on my feet more than ever. I have been a paramedic for 20 years and became a RN in July. To pay for my surgery I am working both jobs full-time. (Thats 72 hours a week as a medic and 36 as a nurse)No wonder I'm tired and my joints hurt.

I just want to say thanks for all of the great info everyone has posted. I look forward to sharing my jouney here.

welcome aboard, you are almost there. how are you finding your pre surgical "diet" going? if you make it through that, after surgery is a breeze!!!

I have to do a liquid diet for 10 days, I start it next saturday. I am starting to get things set up for after the surgery.
