Default So what was your Christmas damage?

I packed on 2.5 lbs since last Friday. Not too bad considering I weighed myself before I went to bed last night, ate anything and everything I wanted more often than I should have, and did not exercise or go to the gym one time. I thought for sure it was going to be a 5 lbs week. Back to the gym tomorrow morning and no empty carbs for the foreseeable future.

I actually felt like this week was good for me. I kind of felt like the carb monster was wearing me down mentally and it was good to have a week and let loose. The difference is now I am ready to get back on schedule where as last year at this time it would have continued right on through the New Year and beyond.

And for the record, Christmas is much worse than Thanksgiving. Christmas seems to be a week or more of snacking and a couple big meals where as Thanksgiving is generally one meal and a couple left overs. We can only eat so much at a meal, where as we can snack about normal.

I actually stayed under 800 calories. I ate a cookie my son made. That was my only real splurge. Normally, it would be 8 cookies at least and a glass of milk:-)

I made chocolate and white chocolate fudge, and several dozen chocolate chip cookies. I had a few of each Christmas Eve and Christmas day. It did wake up my carb monster, and made me horribly hungry. I have a whole new awareness of a sugar/carb addiction I previously denied, I mean I had some serious cravings. Went cold turkey today, and getting all the leftovers out of my house first thing tomorrow. I did go up a pound or two, but think that may be water retention. At least I hope it is!

I don't even want to think about the damage I've done to myself over the holidays when I was pre-sleeve. This Thanksgiving and Christmas were just about like all my other normal days, and I managed to lose another 9 lbs in the last month. I'm a cake decorator and have my own business. I did lots of baking for family and clients, so it's not like the temptation wasn't around. I guess I just love being able to zip up my size 6 jeans more than I love to eat junk. Total opposite of essentially my whole life.

I didn't really gain any weight (better not considering this is the golden 6 months I will supposedly lose 90% of the weight I'm ever gonna lose) but didn't drop any either this past week. I am sure I will once I get back to the right foods. I had some of the red velvet cake I bought for Christmas - had to special order to get buttercream (not cream cheese frosting) here in Seattle. All us yankees here must think it's set in stone to come with cream cheese frosting.

Didn't have a lot but it is very fattening, even for cake. Yeah there is a part of me that is glad I still love it, but I am glad I can't each much of it.

I don't think I did to badly. Although Im not quite sure. Been in the dreaded stall for a good week now. But still a brand new sleever being only a month out so I pretty much got full off the cheese prior to dinner. I will be interested to see what the scale says next week. Im done weighing myself everyday. To mentally taxing.

Ugh! I haven't lost weight in two weeks(( im 5 wks out and I think I need to add consistent exercise and hopefully that will jump start things again! I had a little ice cream on Xmas eve and it didn't agree with me at all I think I'm lactose intolerant to certain dairy products especially milk and ice cream! I had bad cramps and gas that was my only cheat for the holidays!

I was in a stall right before Christmas. I so badly wanted to be down 50 lbs by then, but for more than a week the scale would not move. Weighed this morning, lost two pounds! Down 51! Yay me! I pretty much stuck to the guidelines, protein first, minimal carbs, but I certainly had a cookie or two. I did track everything and made sure I got my protein and fluids in as normal but had about 150 more calories than I usually eat according to mfp. Maybe that's what I needed Just in case the week wasn't challenging enough, my fridge died last Saturday and they couldn't get the part and fix it till tonight. So I've had to make do with protein bars and Wendy's chili most of the week.
Reason: Because do and due are not the same thing

I have been absolutely horrible for the past 4 days! I ate anything that I could tolerate. I did exercise a couple of days because I felt guilty. I have not weighed my self, but I am sure I gained at least 2 lbs. Was back on track today, which felt soo good. Just glad is over with

I didn't gain, so that's an accomplishment. Yesterday was my first day on solids. Best Christmas present ever! I had a couple bites of everything. Turkey, ham, creamed corn, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and broccoli cheese casserole. Everyone thought my plate was funny because I dished it all out in little morsels or portions. I didn't have pecan pue but did have a tiny taste of pumpkin pie. I know this sounds like a lot, but the portions were tiny! I was actually down half a pound this morning so I guess I didn't do too bad. I had some leftovers today too. A few bites of turkey, 1 bite of dressing, potatoes, green bean casserole, and broccoli casserole. Tiny bites! The only thing that worries me is that I tolerated it all with no problems so it looks like my sleeve isn't going to be finicky. That's good AND bad.
So, not too much damage. I just need the family to finish these leftovers - but they can leave me the turkey. Lol!

Forgot to mention I made gluten free chocolate chip cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve. I had a pinch of one when they were still gooey fresh from the oven. Yum.

    Hi Jennifer
My surgery date is the same as yours and I also had been not losing weight for the past two weeks. I stuck it out and over the last couple of days the scale is moving again. I have been doing consistent exercise.
Good luck and stay in touch.

I am so happy that the scales actually are moving down - I have not eaten to excess a first for me at Christmas and I feel so good for it.
I had a little turkey and the veges - no dessert!! My big indulge was to make a breakfast smoothie - with strawberries, raspberries, mango and Moet!
Great way to have a champagne breakfast

Hi june nice to know I'm not alone! I have not been doing consistent exercise and I think that's part of the stall problem! I plan on walking a little bit everyday so I can eventually work up to 30 minutes a day. ..I'm still on pureed and very soft foods so finding protein foods besides cheese eggs and shakes is pretty hard ! Just tried refried beans tonight and all went well yay can't wait to start regular diet so i can incorporate more foods..
