anyone knows how long does it takes after everything is sent to your insurance company when your surgery will be schedule? I live in Detroit, MI I went for pre op Dec 13th I have 5 test Jan 15th, then my evaluation is feb 25th.

Does your insurance require 3 or 6 months of supervised weight loss? Did you attend the Bariatric Education class yet?

hi and yes i attended the class but it was awhile ago.But i will call and ask my insurance company how long will it take. I'm reading all of these successful surgeries I'm just so excited to have a chance to start over right. But I know in due time. :-). Thanks for your response and help.

What insurance do you have? From years of experience with insurance, I would suggest that you call and verify that your surgeon has submitted your paperwork for approval and that nothing else is required. My insurance did not have a waiting period and did not require a pre op diet time frame other than the one I am on now for my surgery on 12/30. I would suggest calling or emailing your insurance once a week until you are approved. My approval took 5 business days. I called every 3 days because I needed a Dec surgery date to avoid having to meet another deductible.
