TMI...Issues with Low Libido after surgery

TMI subject. I know I am young, but since surgery I have no sexual desire or interest in it. My husband is getting frustrated and I am scared if I don't get back the desire that he will find someone else. Is anyone else had issues with this? Maybe hormone related to weight loss?

Some times we have to show our love even if we are not in the mood. It been done for 100dreds of years. If you love him show him. Good luck {also make sure he knows its something with you and not him} you could talk to your doc about it.

I have had the same issue since I was sleeved... like they say sometimes you just have to get a little incentive. I like it once we get going, but it doesnt occur to me otherwise. Sad, used to be an everyday thing for me. I know this messes with some peoples hormones because msny women in menopause start back with their cycles. I was menopausal, and went backward about two years, hot flashes again, etc. Gyno says my testosterone levels are lower now. Again, you might try something romantic to get you in the mood like a massage.....

I have not had this issue at all, quite the opposite! In fact, that's about the only thing my Husband and I "do right" these days, lol! I totally think you should talk to your doctor and have your hormone levels checked, because yes, you could "fake it" I guess, but for how long? You deserve to regain your desire and feel sexy again! It is an important part of you and your marriage, and it should be a fun thing! You're so young and if all it would take is a little something to up your hormone levels, I think it would be well worth it! Good Luck

I guess I was a bit flip. My advice to fake it really meant -- everything will straighten out eventually. And in the meantime, your husband would like to have some sex, so figure out a way you can help him with that.

Bombshell's advice is better, I grant you. BTW, I saw a VSG vid recently in which someone who had VSG over 2 years ago just had her first period in 18 months. Clearly, this journey screws with hormones of all kinds.

You havent been sleeved for 6 months yet so YES your hormones are going to be a little off. Our bodies stores hormones in the fatty tissue and as you lose weight they are released into our bodies. This is why some women resume having monthlies and why some men start to get very emotional and cry. As your weight loss slows and you get closer to goal things should most definetly settle back but in the mean time I would discuss it with my PCP before it becomes a marital issue. I know that sex isnt the ONLY thing in a marriage but it does play a big part in infidelity. It is good that you are wanting to fix this before it becomes an issue. Godspeed on your journey.

Having the same problem as beautiful. Had my levels checked everything ok. Just feeling pretty dead sexually. I hoping to get better real soon. Still try to make my hubby happy though. Good Luck to all withthis problem. Linda

Hmm - I was almost afraid to ask thinking tmi - but I honestly am having the exact opposite feeling - wondered if it was the surgery. Guess our bodies all react differently to things.
