you are same date as I was sleeved. My nutritionist said to stay away from carbs to get the weight loss progressing. I fell into carbs this week, a bagel and a biscuit (I had company so I bought those for company.........guess I won't do that again).....so, put away the popcorn and step away for a few months more

"Gateway carb"! Great term, and so true. There are some things I just won't touch because I know they will trigger a "relapse." I am still in the soft foods stage, but anticipate I will have to come to terms with these types of carbs soon enough. Thanks for the perfect words to stop that thinking.

When I ready for crunchy, I'm going to make sweet potato chips. Very easy. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Using food processor slice potatoes thin thin thin. Spray baking sheet with nonstick spray. Place potatoes in bowl and add just a drizzly of extra virgin olive oil. Generously sprinkele Mrs. Dash for seasoning and toss. Place potatoes in single layer on baking sheet. Bake for about 20 minutes until potatoes and crunchy!

A friend of mine is a Type 1 Diabetic and he told me when he needs something crunchy and savory, he takes american cheese and rips it into 4's, then puts it on wax paper and microwaves it for about 40-50 seconds. It crisps up like a potato chip and it's PURE protein!!! I can't wait to try it!!!

I am 2 months post-op, and I tried it for the first time just a couple of weeks ago and didn't have any problems. I wanted something crunchy and salty so badly and figured light popcorn was a pretty good choice. I've had it a couple of times, but I do realize that this is a red light item for me just due to the fact that I love it and it holds no nutritional value for me.
