cold feet again

hi im Christine from Sydney Australia & I was booked in for surgery this time last year & chickened out & now I am booked in for the 10th of jan & I am getting cold feet again, thinking I can do this by myself like so many other times, even though as we all know the weight comes back & a few more kilos as well
I am so gratefull & thankfull to all that have posted before & after pictures, I look at them everyday on here & it gives me hope that I CAN do this
my husband wants me to go to his work Christmas party but theres no way I am going at this weight "again"
my weight keeps my from going anywhere but work
my joints are sore & I look at pictures now & just cry, I got back all my kilos again
I hate being this big & I will have this operation

I have sugar arthritis,fibro, spondylolthis, just to start. I really think with weight off it will help some of this. I have butterflies so bad, i did not sleep for over a week just 1hr here 1 there draging my butt. my hubby asked if i wanted to back out. no way I came this far and I want a better me. stay strong you can do this it is not easy. but look at things the way they are now. you don't want to go to your hubbys Christmas party. dont let the weight stop you from living get your life back. take care

thanks for all that. I want this surgery but I need the surgery, I do have arthritis in a whole lot of my joints already

I think everyone is frightened about the surgery. You wouldn't be human if you were excited about being put to sleep and having major life changing things done, but it is so worth it! I have lost 31 pounds in 6 weeks and my knees have stopped hurting all the time, I have extra energy, my diabetes is gone and my blood pressure is normal for the first time in years. I don't miss anything about my old life. I am so happy all of the time, my husband is so glad he didn't fight me on this. He says I am like a new person. 31 pounds doesn't seem like much, but I have gone from a size XL to a Medium and size 12-14 jeans. I feel great compared to pre-surgery. Best of luck to both of you with your surgery. Just walk in and don't look back!

It took me over 2 years to make this decision and I now I wish I hadn't taken this long to do it. Obviously I didn't lose any weight in that time I was trying to decide. In fact I added 10 pounds to the total. Only you can make this decision but you have the chance to renew your life and truly start a whole new future. Hi and a warm welcome from a fellow Sydneysider. As you are now experiencing this process is a journey of self discovery. That yes, at times, can be a very confronting thing for us to have to deal with. However, speaking for myself (and the countless other good people on this form) it is fair to say that we wouldn’t change a thing. In that, we would have this operation again in a heartbeat. Because fundamentally, we know that this operation has saved our lives. What a gift!

I agree with everyone who has already posted on this. Yes, it is scary and everyone worries before the surgery. The first few days after are tough, but then it gets easier and it is so worth it. You will feel so much happier, I promise.

We're surgery date twins! I am so nervous. Not just about the surgery itself but how life will be after. I have no doubt that I am going through with it but the nerves are definitely there.
