Wow, that's crazy fast! Are you getting it done in Mexico? Seems like people who opt for the sleeve in Mexico can schedule it in much, much quicker.
I started the process to get the sleeve in January 2013....and I'm having it done in Dec. That's a whole year! I am going through my insurance though (they are paying) and I am doing it in the US.

I did it in a about six weeks. It goes alot faster when you self-pay. I could have done it faster but had to postpone due to an unavoidable circomstance. Doing it fast gives you so much less time to worry and talk yourself out of it, LOL. Godspeed on your journey.

Yes, I am going through Mexico. I called my credit union and they gave me a loan and my husband had a USAIR travel voucher that was about to expire so I jumped on an opportunity. I thank God I was able to make a decision, some people can't move forward. I didn't even try through my insurance they were very clear they would not pay for it
. I would rather be home and closer to family but this is a journey I have to just take alone

The other thing is you don't have time for tons and tons of 'last meals'. When my funding came through, I made my appointment for 2 weeks later. I just got busy with my pre-op plan and that was that. I really liked not having months and months of anticipation!

True on the last meals, I felt too embarrassed to post it til yesterday but I had actually gained 2 pounds on my previous "starting" weight due to Thai & Mexican food in the week or 10 days before surgery.
Dr. Lopez is a great surgeon so you will be in good hands. One thing I would change if ever having surgery out of the country again - I would make sure someone was with me. I hope the issues I had at Mi Doctor & some of the nurses have been resolved. My best to you, I understand not wanting to let anything get in the way of having your sleeve done.

Welcome Good Luck and Congrats I did it fast also. In one month I was all set, self-pay in Mexico... My insurance wouldn't cover it. So in 5 days I will be in Mexico. Keep you posted.
