That is good news. Hope it clears up completely for you soon.
Sending you Healing, Light & Love!!
It's a mild infection, drainage starting to look worse because the seroma is drying up. But the reddened, indurated area is getting smaller and I know I am healing. My other incisions are fine. I'll be fine, just a minor hiccup along the way. No matter how good a surgeon is, post op infections & the like can happen. I wonder if I got the seroma from so much dry heaving in the days after the surgery. I was just no nauseated I couldn't stop retching. My name was Ralph! Horrible sounds I was making, and at great volume. I was so sick. I wonder if the people next to me at the Marriott got a discount having to listen to that. I think they deserved it.
I hope yours is just some extra fluid and not infected. I am doing well and the tract has healed up substantially. My PCP is still insisting we keep a packing in so that it doesn't close up and become an abscess, which is smart. But I will be glad when we can skip the packing & I'll just have big ABD pad on it & can change it & shower without all the stupid taping of saran wrap & then the dsg gets wet anyway & I end up having to change the upper part every time.
It grew out resistant pseudomonas. The only thing it is sensitive to is IV antibiotics. I guess the bactrim has some effect, because it is helping, but does not treat it completely. I have to see an infectious disease specialist. Hoping I will just continue to fight this bug & not need to be on big guns antibiotics.
