9 weeks post-op! I got 13 days into a 14 day broad-spectrum antibiotic prescription and broke out in the worst rash that covered 75% of my body. I seriously considered scratching myself to death, it itched so bad. Doctor told me to take a Claratin during the day and 2 Benadryls at night and it cleared up completely in 36 hours. Whew!
The big milestone now is that i can FINALLY sleep on my side for up to 4 hours (then it hurts like hell). I guess I never realized how much "padding" I had on my hips. I have nothing there now but skin, bones and scar tissue. No flesh to speak of covering my hips!
My body has begun playing a guessing game with me, I still leak just a bit out of two incisions, but only every OTHER day. Dry one day, soggy the next. Go figure.
Interestingly, my body's weight has been exactly the same TO THE 1/10th OF AN OUNCE (!!!) for 8 of the last 9 days(!!!!). If I didn't have an electronic scale I'd swear it was stuck.
I'm getting there!!
Time for an update how, how is it going?

I've considered the tummy tuck, but I just dont know if its worth going through another surgery. I dont have all that much excess but enough that it annoys me because otherwise I'm starting to look pretty toned. Bob's story doesn't exactly get me more excited about surgery.
I plan to wait for some time after I get to my goal weight to see how my body 'settles down' and how I feel about it. I'm not in a hurry to have more surgery either, and I'm old enough that some loose skin isn't going to be a drama. Congrats on your fabulous weight loss and I hope you are enjoying your new body and life. Cheers, Susan
Captain's Log - Final Entry
Well, I hit my final milestone today. 80 days post-op and I went to work today with no foundation garments (wrap or spanx) and more importantly, no bandages. I've finally "dried up", no more site drainage!
It's been a bit of a haul, but the end result is certainly worth the temporary discomfort! Having a gastric sleeve made me feel good about myself, but having an abdominoplasty has really made me feel, well, sexy.
I went from a 2XLT (borderline 3XLT) shirt size to an XLT with my gastric sleeve.
With the abdominoplasty, I wear a size L (!!!!) I no longer have to get the "tall" length to cover the rolls of skin.
I am absolutely "flat" down the front and sides of my torso, I look like a "regular guy" now.
I want to lose just 12 more pounds to put me in the high end of the "normal" weight range for my height, but quite frankly, if it takes me the rest of the year to do so I'm okay with that.
I still can't lie flat on my back....that'll take another 3 or 4 months to "loosen up", and trying to do pullups at the gym is agonizing, but if that's the "sacrifice" I have to make for this body, I'll take it in a heartbeat.
Thanks for bearing with me sharing my drama here...and good luck with your own plastic surgery quest!

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences--the good and the not-so-good. Hearing about the pitfalls and challenges is a reality check for each of us considering the tummy tuck procedure. I will almost certainly be getting a full-on mommy makeover next year, so I REALLY appreciate your candor, and humor!
Good luck ditching that last dozen or so pounds!
