    Default Recently sleeved...

I was sleeved on Thursday, November 7. Today is a week on only
clear liquids. I don't feel hungry since the surgery,
thank God, but my mind is telling me I'm dying.
Dramatic I know but it just seems wrong. I'm really
struggling mentally. I hope the next few days get
    easier.

It was tough for me too. I had been on such a long pre-op diet, I was sick of liquids. Water, broth and apple juice for a week felt like the lost eleventh circle of hell. But it DOES get better. Your head needs time to adjust just as much as your body.

I felt hungry too! It does get better. I was miserable the first week and 3 weeks later, I no longer miss food. Good luck!

A friend of mine that had the sleeve done a year ago said she struggled mentally as well. .your brain doesn't understand the drastic decrease in calories it takes time to get used to tiny portions when we've been eating big portions our whole life!

Same here. 12 days post-op and I am so sick and tired of drinking liquids and sweet stuff I don't know what to do!!! I've never been a sweets person so these shakes are killing me. I am also drinking tomato soup which I like soooo much better but when I put protein powder in it, it makes it too thick for me to drink. I am a texture person and not being able to chew my food is terrible for me. I told my bf that I feel like I'm just wasting away due to my lack of food consumption. Lol I know that I am not but it is truly mentally draining when you want to eat but cant!!!

Good luck everyone, and as someone else told me, this too shall pass. It is so worth the trouble in the long run and this period will become a distant memory. Best wishes on a speedy recovery!
