Annoying Emails

Why do I get emails from this forum as I turned off all that as far as I could but I am getting constant emails every time I post. This is the most annoying marketing known to man but every web site thinks that people want to get stupid emails all the time to keep them coming back to the site. I am on the verge of deleting my account and never coming back if this does not stop.

The worst thing is the email address keeps changing so its getting around the blocks I am putting into my email client.

I have not told anyone I did this operation and I am very worried that an annoying email with the words "Gastric Sleeve" screaming in the headline will come into my email when I am working with people at work on something and then everyone will know. Its private and these emails could not be more frustrating.

How can I ensure that I can never ever get an email from this site? Why is there not a checkbox for that in the user settings that actually works and will shut off everything?

All the emails have settings. Post an example email and I'll direct you to the setting. The emails tell you as well about how to unsubscribe.
You need to be aware that there are different types of emails so there are different settings.
As far as the email address changing, can you post an example of what emails you are getting mail from? Nothing changed as far as I know, the sender is always the same and has never changed.
Happy to help just please post more info about what email notification type that you want to turn off.

go to general settings and scroll down the whole list and unclick the e-mails you don't want to get. Also, at the bottom of the actual e-mail, there is an option of where to click if you want to stop receiving those types of e-mails.

I am also getting constant e-mails about people posting in threads I responded to (in some cases) months ago. I have ALL email settings turned off and always have. These e-mails I'm getting now just started in the last week. I do not subscribe to threads. All my subscription folders are empty. I also do not allow e-mails. I have pasted the content of an e-mail I received 5 minutes ago below. The e-mail title was "orsola had just made a post on GastricSleeve.com":

"Dear leesooim,

You are subscribed to immediate updates when your friends post on GastricSleeve.com

orsola had just posted here:

If you think the frequency of these emails is too high, you may change your settings to be notified when your friends post only once per day, once per week, or not at all.

As you can see, there is no option to unsubscribe to these types of e-mails in the message I just pasted. And as I already said, I have ever since nearly 2 years ago now always had it set to not receive any kind of e-mail whatsoever, so I am not sure why I just recently started getting e-mails like this.

I turned all my setting off too..and I still got them, so I just said give me one email daily instead of individually. I don't know if there is a way to turn it off completely, at least I haven't found it yet.

Leesooim, please follow the very link that you pasted from that email and change your "Friends Posts delivery frequency:" to "Never".
That email you pasted also says yours is set to Immediate and you should change it to Never, if you don't want them ever.

Yes, make sure you go to your forum settings and turn off all settings that permit the forum to send you emails.

And ALSO, within your email application (whether Outlook or other one), create a folder and a new "rule" that sends all your emails from this forum to that forum. That way, they will never show up in your email In Box.
