I am happy with my -27 pounds since Oct. 14th but when do you really start to see changes in clothes sizes?
27 pounds in 3 weeks? I want some of that!!!! lol You are doing fantastic!! Some of that might be water weight or the fluid from the IVs, but you should start seeing some of your clothes losening up soon. I always lose in my waist first, so I saw it there and in my face. It is very hard for me to notice it now. I had jeans that I could go down into, and didn't want to keep wearing them baggy. I have gone down 5 sizes in my jeans now and had to purchase some for this latest stage. Because my pants are fitting, I can't "see" the loss anymore. My friends are noticing though, so that's good.
Looks for NSV's (Non scale victories). Try on something that you couldn't wear 6 months ago and see where you are with it now. Can you go up a hole or 2 on your belts? Can you cross your legs now? (I finally did this past weekend for the first time in 12+ years!) lol you're on your way and you'll start seeing the changes soon. good luck on continued success!!!!
I have lost 33 lbs since surgery on 10/16. This includes doing the pre-op diet and then surgery. They said you would hit places like this but it is important to stay in touch with your nutritionist since they will become your best friend. I am seeing it more in my clothes and how loose they are becoming. I can now cross my legs where before I couldn't. I am like the other comments it will come in time.
You should start being able to notice the change soon. Like someone else said try something on that didn't fit and see if you fit now...you would be surprised! I have went from a size 24 to an 11/12 in 7 months! I have lost 118 pounds! I can really tell the weight loss in my whole body not so much in my stomach because of extra skin but I have dropped from a 3x to a L shirt. Where I carried my son, it's holding strong and making me angry lol time to kick it into over drive and drop the extra fat! Good luck on your journey...it's only been 3 weeks and you are doing amazing already!
Well of course everyone is different but I would read on the boards here that people would lose like 10 lbs and be done a size. I think I was at 45-50 before I realized I needed to try on smaller sizes. It was about 50 lbs before anyone actually asked if I was losing weight, maybe my people are clueless, LOL
In the past, it was about 25-30 lbs for me per size. I've lost 42 lbs so far and all my clothes are feeling looser. As far as actually seeing it goes...depends on the day for me, but others have commented they can tell.
Congrats, by the way, on your success so far! =)
I have lost 34 pounds since 9/25. I can still wear my size 22 and 20's but they are loose. I can definitely see changes in my face and my tummy. My bra straps will not stay up on my shoulders and my night clothes are bigger. When I can get my wedding rings back on I will be so happy.
I'm down 20 lbs surgery in in 8 days with no clothing shifts being really apparent. You might have some of the same things. 1. I'm tall it takes about 30 lbs before my clothes start to shift and 2. I live in slip on pants with elastic waist bands they can hide a multitude of sins, they can also hide a big part of look I'm doing great due to being stretchy. I have noticed it in my face a little and I'm feeling better. So keep up the good work and can't wait to hear your sizes start to shirk away as well.
I was once told that for every 20 pounds you lose you will drop a pants size...which seems to be just about accurate for me. I am having a issue noticing it when I look in the mirror, I still she the fat me and I think a lot of people do that...it just takes time. You are doing great!! keep up the good work!
WOW 27 in less than a month! that's awesome! I have lost 30lbs since the surgery and went from a size 16-18 to a 10-12. I did start exercise the week after my surgery. Started with lots of walking at first and when I hit 2 weeks I told my doctor that I felt well enough to work out.He gave me the OK and asked that I listen to my body and take it easy when I must and so far I have not decreased my workouts in fact I try to increase every week.
I think it depends on how the weight is "redistributed." My shirts/tops, got bigger first, but the pants size stayed the same for a longer time. My shoe size didn't change, but I can't wear "wide" width now. I still wear a couple of really comfy nightgowns from when I was 265
