2 days and I messed up bad!!

So I'm three days away from my surgery, and I messed up my diet bad. Homemade dumplings and baked beans. I'm so scared I just messed it up for good. I don't know why I did it, just cooking it And it happened. Any advice? Anyone done this so close to time and gotten the surgery? What if my liver isn't 'tiny'?

Our surgery is the same day. Don't worry I did the same thing yesterday! I had some BBQ ribs with fries and dessert. Today and tomorrow , I m only on liquids! It's not easy! Are u on a liquid diet yet?

Relax! Be excited about the surgery. It took you years to get where you are. One mishap doesn't ruin forthcoming life changing surgery.

What id be more concerned about is your ability to be a good post surgery candidate. You need to be ready to control your impulses, because you'll be in more distress if not than you arr now.

Today was my first day pre- op diet and I ate a little more than I was suppose to.....I' m laying here worried about it and starving! lol. Wondering how I'm going to make it through the next 10 days! I'm sure your not the first one to cheat a bit on your diet....all you can do is try to do better tomorrow. Its hard...but you can do it.

Just be sure to to the laxative and liquids for the next few days and you'll be fine.

Post surgery this kind of activity can cause a leak, which can be dangerous! If you liver is not small enough, they can close you back up and not do the sleeve. I have read of that a couple times here on this forum.

Thanks y'all. This is the first bad slip I've really had (I'll admit I added an extra egg once or twice last week) but I've done good this long by just not cooking, but my husband was tired of canned food O.o lol. I've been on all liquids and proteins shakes for a few days now, I can tell you I will not be eating again! My stomach! Omg! I'm so sick this morning already!! This. Is. Torture. Lesson learned!!

You will be fine. Keep in mind that the main reason for the pre-op diet is to reduce the size of your liver. Just stay with your surgeons pre-op diet until the day of your surgery!

I think it is more important to know why you ate the beans and dumplings and to understand how to deal with those emotions and impulses. I don't think you messed up your liver over one slip, but you will not be able to eat solid foods for a couple weeks after the surgery, you can do some real damage to your sleeve. You will more than likely be just fine. I don't see how one meal could mess it up. Don't worry. It was not bad after the surgery, you really will not be wanting to eat and it won't bother you when your husband does. You just won't be that hungry for two or three weeks.
