Progress in the pre-op process!

Well I'm super excited! I just got a call from my insurance company. I was pretty nervous because I'm required to do a 6 month pre op diet supervised by a doctor. I did 4 months at the beginning of this year, and was sure they wouldn't count. They do!! I only have 2 appointments and a psych eval before we submit it for approval. And they told me approval will take up to 15 days max! I'm SO relieved! I was expecting another 6 months for nutrition visits and up to 6 months for insurance approval!

I've read a lot of insurance horrors stories, so I was preparing myself for worst case scenario so I wouldn't be disappointed.

I have UHC by the way, if anyone was wondering. I know everyone's policy is a little different, but it's nice to have a guess of what to expect. It's really scary going into this totally blind. I have my first of two nutrition appointments next week and my psych eval. I can't believe it's almost time! They said they should hear from my doctor in December

I know this wasn't helpful, but I'm so excited and nobody else understands or cares!!

WOW, so glad your work earlier this year counts!! How wonderful that is to hear that you are so close, hurray for you!!

That's fantastic!!!! We might be closer in our journey than you thought! That would be awesome!!!! I couldn't get my psych eval until the end of November though...but after that I'll have everything in! So we will have to see what happens!!!!
