People who haven't had the surgery yet?

I am waiting. I am at the very beginning of the journey. I go Friday for my initial medical stuff and nutritional appointments. Where are you at in the process?

I have the psych eval in 6 days. And then some other appointments for tests, I'm almost at the surgery date! It goes so fast though, before you know it you'll be at the surgery!

That's awesome! Congrats to you I am hoping to get more of a schedule after my first appointment. I am a planner.

I have not had surgery yet. My date is November 5th. I am on day 5 of my preop diet. I am excited and ready for it to be done. I started this process in April so its been a long time coming. Good luck !

I as well have not been sleeved yet. my journey started in June 2013 and now im scheduled for surgery November 5, 2013. and have been put on the pre-op diet as of this Monday..

Me too. Not sleeved, yet. But my journey is different, because I'm in Denmark. But today I had the "check-up" interview with the doctor and was approved for surgery. Now I have to go bananas in vitamin D (my level was very low) and have the last class with the nutritionists. Now surgery is very close without having an accurate date. I started dieting june and should lose 8% of my weight then. I'm almost there now. I'm 1,3 kg short. But I'll get there!

They diagnosed me as Vitamin D deficient. I have to take some kind of pills they prescribed.

I haven't had it done yet. Do you have a date (or an estimated date)? Mine is in mid December.

I was extremely Vitamin D deficient. I worked straight nights for a year and was still working nights when I was tested, so it's not a wonder. I take a small gel capsule once a day that provides 2,000 IU of D3 so I should be set by mid/late November when I have to do some more blood tests.

Hi! I'm in the process too. I've had all the initial consults. Just waiting to hear if my insurance approves it. I'm very anxious. I'm a planner too, and everything is at a standstill right now until I find out. I'm trying to have this done by year's end. And I too was diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency.

Hi Rebecca! Congrats for taking control of your life! Its a tough journey but so worth it! I am scheduled for 11/11 and I am going to Mexico for my surgery. I travelled there in May when my sister had her surgery so I have seen her success and can't wait to join her! Take care, read lots and don't hesitate to ask any questions!

Sometime in January. They were trying to push me back to February. but they knew I was trying to get enough weight off to go to Prom because it is my senior year. I started the process in April but we have to wait until I turn 18 on 12/14

I hope you have a wonderful prom. If you're looking for a January date, you'll definitely have lost weight by prom (in the spring, right?). I never went to prom.

Yep! In May, and then graduation in June I'm so excited. After Graduation I'm going to California for a convention of youtube video makers and to meet some friends from online! Life is going to get so busy and amazing for me, I cannot wait!

I'm pre-op. I have my approval letter, I did my sleep apnea test, I have a group meeting on the 29th. From what I have firgured out from other people on this board that had their surgery through the same HMO and Dr is I will probably wait on the waiting list 6-9m . My nurse told me 3-9m, apparently we have to complete 6 classes before they put us on the list and with the holidays coming up I am guessing those classes might be spread out a bit more. I keep chugging along. They have me on Phentermine, honestly I don't feel like it is doing a thing for me I also completed and optifast 6m program about 2 years ago, I gained all the weight back. As most I have been dealing with my weight for my whole life. I have tried every program out there and I know that I can't do this anymore without the surgery. I have been putting off this surgery for 10 years now so another 6-9m isn't that bad I guess.
